3. 123 Closing the top cover of the scanner 6 Turn the scanner back on 132 Oc 9800 Copier Printer User Manual Oc 9800 Copier Printer User Manual Chapter 9 Problem solving This chapter explains how to handle certain problems which may occur while using the Oc 9800 Introduction Copies 0 134 Problems that may occur when using the Oc 9800 Original jams see page 135 a Paper jams see page 137 m Problems which can be solved by following the instructions on the display m Other problems Call Oc service see page 156 When an error occurs the display provides information about m what the problem is m where it occurred m how to solve it Copy media is normally transported through the system without any problems Occasionally however media may get jammed in the machine If this happens a flashing cover or door will be shown on the graphic display indicating the section of the printer in which the jam occurred Check machine Open roll unit and doors Remove copy media Close roll unit and doors 124 Example of an error message Stickers on certain parts of the system indicate which green handles green knobs green bars and covers etc need to be lifted pressed or opened to remove any jammed copy media The display guides you through a sequence of steps to solve the problem If a jam occurs in more than one location the display will continue
4. 3 Oc 9800 Printer which is described in the Oc 9800 Printer User Manual You can also use other applications such as the Oc 9800 Job Director and Oc 9800 Repro Station which are described in separate user manuals to send your print jobs to the printer The Oc 9800 Printer is described in the Oc 9800 Printer User Manual 12 Oc 9800 Copier Printer User Manual Oc 9800 Copier Printer The basic Oc 9800 Copier Printer configuration consists of a scanner and a printer The operating panel is located on the scanner 4 Oc 9800 Copier Printer which is described in this manual Use the scanner to feed your originals and to control the various functions of the printer If your printer is equipped with a controller you can connect the printer to your computer system To send your print jobs to the printer you can use the Oc 9800 Job Director and the Oc 9800 Repro Station or other printer drivers described in separate user manuals This manual describes the Oc 9800 Copier Printer Oc 9800 optional equipment a High Capacity Stacker The 6 bin High Capacity Stacker can be installed as a replacement for the single copy receiving tray Lower Output container If no folder punch unit is installed this piece of optional equipment can be used for delivering long copies Folder with optional belts and punch unit The folder can be supplied with option

20. copy jobs 41 Defining settings for the next original You can define the settings for each original you wish to copy When automatic feed is enabled bear in mind that the original is automatically pulled into the scanner If you want to be absolutely sure about the settings the machine uses when processing your original make sure that you insert the original only after defining the relevant settings Note To increase versatility on the scanner input side you can ask your key operator to switch off Automatic Feed When using the scanner in non automatic feed mode you must press the start button for each new original to be scanned This offers you the opportunity to change the settings for the next original even if you have already positioned the original on the scanner feed table Defining settings for the next copy job Select all settings required for the next original Insert the next original If Automatic feed is inactive press the Start button If Automatic feed is active the original is fed automatically Copying sets of originals using Set Input optional 42 If your system is equipped with set memory this is indicated by the memory indicator on the left of the display see figure 35 on page 43 Set memory allows you to sort sets and copy long originals A set of originals is a number of originals that belong together The sequence of the pages in each copy of the set is the sa
