Insert the batteries included with the remote control Ensure that the polarities correctly match the and markings inside the battery compartment 3 Replace the battery cover If you have a CW 61 remote After a few seconds the remote starts up automatically and an Introduction screen appears The remote control beeps twice to indicate that it has started up successfully e When installing batteries make sure that the battery polarities are correct lt Notes on Batteries Do not mix an old battery with a new one or different types of batteries If you will not use the remote control for a long time remove the batteries to avoid damage from battery leakage The remote control can be used to control the CinemaWall within the ranges shown in lt Notes on Remote Control Figure 3 1 Operation 7m 23ft Figure 3 1 Available Range of the Remote Control Runco CinemaWall Owner s Operating Manual 13 Installation e Do not drop the remote control or expose it to moisture or high temperature e The remote control may malfunction under a fluorescent lamp If that occurs move the plasma display away from the fluorescent lamp e Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the infrared beam between the remote control and the IR receiver on the plasma display The signal from the remote control can be reflected by walls or A Note other surfaces e IY the effective range of the remote control decreases or

Connections If you have a DVD player or DTV decoder with a component YPbPr output connect it to the DVD HD1 or DVD HD2 input of the CinemaWall Composite S Video Connections The CinemaWall has S Video VIDEO2 and Composite VIDEO1 video inputs for connecting a VCR camcorder laser disc player or DVD player Audio Inputs The CinemaWall has three 3 stereo audio inputs Connect the audio lt Audio Connections outputs from your source components to these inputs You can associate each audio input with any video input that is specify which audio input becomes active when a given video source is selected For more information refer to Audio on page 34 Speakers The CinemaWall has an internal 9W per channel stereo amplifier that can drive a pair of stereo speakers Connect the positive and negative speaker wires to the EXT SPEAKER terminals on both the LEFT and RIGHT channels Maintain the correct polarity For more information refer to the owner s manual for your speakers Runco CinemaWall Owner s Operating Manual 19 Installation RS 232 Controller Use a 9 pin cross over RS 232 cable to connect a PC or home theater Connection control automation system if present to the EXTERNAL CONTROL port on the CinemaWall see Figure 3 4 For more information about using this connection refer to Serial Communications on page 45 3 XMT DATA RCV DATA 5 9 RCV DATA XMT DATA 3 EXTERNAL CONTROL SIG GND SIG GND i

Operating Manual If you are mounting the CinemaWall in an enclosure leave at least 2 inches 50 mm of space on all sides between It and surrounding objects as shown in Figure 3 2 This allows heat to disperse maintaining the proper operating temperature 50mm 2 lt lt Figure 3 2 Ventilation Requirements for Enclosure Mounting Other considerations and tips that can help improve your installation avoid damage and prolong operating life e Keep the ambient temperature constant and below 35 C 95 F Keep the display away from heating and or air conditioning vents Changes in temperature may cause drifts in the display circuitry which may affect performance e Keep the CinemaWall away from devices that radiate electromagnetic energy such as motors and transformers Common sources of these include slide projectors speakers power amplifiers and elevators e Handle the unit carefully when installing it When carrying it use the built in handles DO NOT touch or hold the screen face e Set the unit away from heat excessive dust and direct sunlight e Protect the inside of the unit from liquids and small metal objects In case of accident unplug the power cord and have it serviced by an authorized Runco Service Center e Do not hit or scratch the panel surface as this causes flaws on the surface of the screen e For correct installation and mounting it is strongly recomm
