SYSTEM MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE 38 PORTS 00 On the rear of the Control Unit you will find two auxiliary ports identified CN2 CN3 which be used to connect auxiliary devices that enhance the functions of a CTOC system Two types of devices may be connected e Personal Computer e TelelO A Personal Computer allows remote control of a CTOC system The TelelO device allows a CTOC system to be integrated with other control and monitoring systems Only one device of each type may be connected to a single Control Unit CONNECTING THE CONTROL UNIT TO A PERSONAL COMPUTER The CTOC Control Unit can be connected to a Personal Computer to enable remote control of the system This may be achieved via a DIRECT connection using a dedicated serial line or via MODEM using a normal telephone line In order for an exchange of information to take place between the Control Unit and the Personal Computer a suitable software program must be installed in the latter Different software programs are available for this purpose for DOS and Windows environments To enable the Control Unit to communicate with a Personal Computer via MODEM or a DIRECT serial connection the user must carry out a specific programming procedure on the auxiliary port used for the connection Only in this way will the Control Unit be able to respond to the calls of the Personal Computer linked to it and where necessary to generate calls of its
