WHAT TD DO IN EMERGENCIES       Jacking Instructions      1  Loosen  but do not remove  the wheel  lug nuts by turning them to the left  one turn while the wheel is still on the     Fa   lt  ground     e  Q w 2  There are two jack engagement      locations on each side of the vehicle   body  These locations are on the sill   flange of the vehicle body        Rear jack locations are between a pair  of down facing tabs on the sill flange  of the vehicle side body        Front jack location is on the sill flange of  the vehicle body and is located 6 in   150 mm  from door edge           WHAT TO  DD IN EMERGENGIES       NOTE  In some situations the jack may  need to be placed on its side in order to be  pushed under the vehicle  Return the jack  to its correct orientation once it is under  the vehicle     3  Place the wrench on the jack screw  and turn to the right until the jack  head is properly engaged in the  described location  Do not raise the  vehicle until you are sure the jack is  securely engaged        180 mm        4  Raise the vehicle by turning the jack screw to the right  using the swivel wrench   Raise the vehicle only until the tire just clears the surface and enough clearance  is obtained to install the spare tire  Minimum tire lift provides maximum stability     5  Remove the wheel lug nuts  for vehicles with wheel covers  remove the cover from  the wheel by hand  Do not pry the wheel cover off  Then pull the wheel off the  hub     6  Install the compact spa
8.   GETTING  STARTED       TILT TELESCOPING STEERING COLUMN    e The tilt steering column tilt lever is  located below the steering wheel     e Push down on the tilt lever to unlock  the steering column     e With one hand firmly on the steering  wheel  move the steering column  upward or downward as desired  To  lengthen or shorten the steering  column  pull the steering wheel  outward or push it inward as desired        e Pull upward on the tilt lever to lock the  column firmly in place     Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving  The tilt adjustment must be  locked while driving  Adjusting the steering wheel while driving or driving    without the tilt adjustment locked could cause the driver to lose control of the  vehicle  Failure to follow this warning may result in you and others being  severely injured or killed           GETTING  STARTED       ADJUSTABLE PEDALS    W       e Press the switch located on the left  side of the steering column forward to  move the brake and accelerator pedals     away from the driver and press the   Adjustable l switch rearward to move the pedals  a  gt  wal closer to the driver     NOTE  The pedals cannot be adjusted when  the vehicle is in REVERSE or when the    Electronic Speed Control is set     CAUTION     Do not place any article under the adjustable pedals or impede its ability to  move  as it may cause damage to the pedal controls  Pedal travel may become  limited if movement is stopped by an obstruction in the adjustable ped

115. tely        WHAT TO  DO IN EMERGENGIES        E    Anti Lock Brake  ABS  Light    e This light monitors the Anti Lock Brake System  ABS      e lf the light is not on during starting  stays on  or turns on while driving  we  recommend you drive to the nearest service center and have the vehicle serviced  immediately     YA   Electronic Throttle Control  ETC  Light    e This light informs you of a problem with the Electronic Throttle Control  ETC   system     e  f a problem is detected  the light will come on while the engine is running  Cycle  the ignition when the vehicle has completely stopped and the shift lever is placed  in the PARK position  the light should turn off     e If the light remains lit with the engine running  your vehicle will usually be  drivable  however  see an authorized service center immediately  If the light is  flashing when the engine is running  immediate service is required and you may  experience reduced performance  an elevated rough idle or engine stall and your  vehicle may require towing    AF   Air Bag Warning Light   e  f the light is not on during starting  stays on  or turns on while driving  have the   vehicle serviced by an authorized service center immediately   Fuel Cap Loose Gas Cap Message    e  f a    gas cap    message  shown as gASCAP  appears  tighten the gas cap until a     clicking    sound is heard     e Press the odometer reset button to turn the message off   e  f the message continues to appear for more than three days aft
