SPEAKER INSTALLATION Once you have made a decision on where to install your speakers and have verified that the location is safe you will need the following tools to complete the installation e Stud Finder Drill amp Drill Bits e Wire Cutter Strippers Speaker Wire e Pencil Phillips Screwdriver Utility Knife or Drywall Saw Painters Tape Use only multi stranded copper 16 gauge minimum speaker wire approved for use within walls Consult with your local building department for approved wire types and wiring methods Find a location between two wall or ceiling studs that will accommodate speaker installation Carefully measure for clearance and lightly trace the included cut out template onto the surface Cut a small test hole near the center of your cut out trace CAUTION Proceed with the final cut out of your opening only after you have verified your cut out location is free from electrical wiring water pipes heating ducts obstructions etc THIS IS A CRITICAL STEP AND SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED 3 Route approved speaker wire from your e cut out the hole pe along template lines amplifier or from a volume control to the speaker locations Wire polarity is key here You must maintain positive usually red and negative usually black polarity between the source and the speakers and double check your work After completing all connections make sure the amp volume controls and speakers are connected and working properl

9. y Turn on the amplifier and audio source to verify it is producing sound at lower volumes Slowly turn 2 up the volume You should hear sound coming e cut small hole to from your new speakers If no sound is produced check for any ser eN from any or all speakers turn off the source equipment immediately and check for open or loose connections shorts or proper source selection and connections After you have verified the speakers are operating normally slide each speaker up inside the cut out hole with the speaker wire attached to the speaker being careful not to pinch or otherwise damage or disconnect the speaker wire 1 e mark cutout lines on wall 1 e mark cut out 2 e cut small hole to 3 e cut out the hole along lines on wall check for obstructions template cut out lines 8 Make sure that the mounting dogs spin freely and are clear of the gusset prior to inserting the speaker into your newly cut opening Center the speaker in the cut out hole align it with the other speaker if applicable and turn the four or six locking screws clockwise until the speaker is drawn up snugly to the wall board from behind clamping the speaker in place Try to tighten each screw equally Do not over tighten the screws Replace the speaker grill by gently pressing it into place Note Wash your hands first dirt can easily transfer from your fingers to the grills Use a small amount of included adhesive to secure the grills to the speakers EET
