6. ibrary MDREP instance must be installed on at least 1 IBMi partition to use MDWorkflow DDM is used to connect from that partition to all other IBMi partitions or systems in the corporate infrastructure Property Default __ Description gt Z gt o None Host address of the IBMi repository to connect to host Mandatory Example my system com empty MDCMS instance on the IBMi standard hostEnv instance Example DEMO to use MDCMSDEMO instance without suffix Midrange Dynamics GmbH Zugerbergstrasse 4 CH 6301 Zug Tel 41 41 710 27 77 Fax 41 41 710 95 87 www midrangedynamics com 3 8 MDWorkflow 4 3 Setup User Authentication via IBMi User Profile This is the default authentication Each MDWorkflow user must have a valid User Profile and Password on the partition that MDWorkflow connects to The user is presented with a Login screen when a new MDWorkflow session is started The user must also be registered in MDSEC with at least general authorization to MDCMS Property 4 4 Setup User Authentication via MDSEC User Profile This authentication setting allows users and passwords to be defined directly in MDSEC so that an IBMi profile is not necessary for each user This can be relevant for Management or certain Business Users who do not require any other access to the IBMi partition If the entered user id exists as an IBMi user profile MDWorkflow will automatically use that profile for the authentication in
7. ithin the MDCMS JAVA instance IFS folder in each partition where MDCMS is installed The settings for each partition that should send mails are configured within the Email Settings in the MDWorkflow Application The command MDSTRMAIL runs the java application It is recommended to build this command into a scheduled job or the IPL Startup program MDMAIL instance is optionally submitted to be the SMTP control console job A 2 4 job containing the java thread is called MDMAIL The command MDENDMAIL cleanly ends the java job and the control process with 1 minute of invoking the command The API MDMAIL can be used to send a simple mail The API MDMAILF can be used to send a mail using a file as the body with HTML or text formatting When clicking an envelope within a Project Task or Subtask within MDWorkflow MDWorkflow sends a mail using the MDMAIL job on the partition that MDWorkflow is connected to Midrange Dynamics GmbH Zugerbergstrasse 4 CH 6301 Zug Tel 41 41 710 27 77 Fax 41 41 710 95 87 www midrangedynamics com 8 8

9. ries system with IBMi OS version V5R3MO0O or higher e Avalid MDCMS License e Avalid MDWorkflow License 2 2 The Installation Steps Use the MDINSSAVF command see the MDCMS Installation Instructions for full details and include the MD IDE Repository in the installation The MD IDE Repository is only necessary for the partition that the Web Application will connect to unless MDOpen Is also in use However the version of MDCMS on the other partitions should be the same as the repository partition 3 Installation of Web Application 0 1 Prerequisites e Java JDK 6 or newer some servers will function with JRE 5 or JDK 5 e Application Server The web application has been tested on the following Application Servers Minimum Version Tested Apache Tomcat aT hitp fomcat apache org Glassfish hitp glasstish java net http www jboss org jbossas 0 2 The Installation Steps The MDWorkflow web application consists of one packaged WAR file that is downloaded from the Customer Area inside of a ZIP file Extract the WAR file from the ZIP file Depending on the Application Server you can use a browser based management console to deploy the WAR file or you can copy the WAR file to a folder within the Application Server and the Server will deploy it automatically If your server permits you to modify the files in a Web App after deployment then you can make the configuration changes after deployment and then restart the Serv
