2. 2 Download the new software to your computer 3 Double click on the file downloaded to extract the update files They will be a number of files ending with bin with names like controller bin tractor bin or drum bin There may also be some release notes with the package 4 Save files to the root folder top level of the memory card you are using remove any older versions 5 Insert your removable memory device into your controller and turn it on 6 Navigate to the MENU gt SETUP gt MAINTENANCE select UPDATE SYSTEM SOFTWARE and press OK Follow the on screen instructions to complete the upgrade see fig 3 20 Status messages may include OK No Update required NO FILE No update file bin on storage device EXPECTED Incorrect software on device UPDATE Update possible recommended 7 The controller will now update the software and then prompt you to restart the module by pressing OK The update process may take several minutes Do not remove the memory card or switch off the system until the update is complete The system has now been updated Ay CAUTION Do not remove the memory card or switch off the system while the upgrade is in progress Failure to comply may render the system inoperable P350 flexitrax Operation Manual 43 NOTE Upgrading components with the latest software may take several minutes If the upgrade is successful the command module may prompt you to reboot Press OK to reboot the system NOTE If you rec

To increase the drum pull speed press drum speed To decrease the drum pull speed press drum speed NOTE These keys allow control in MAN manual mode only When selected the MAN indication light will come on ii AUTO Automatic Selecting AUTO will allow the crawler to pull cable from the drum as it is driven forward In reverse the drum will pull at constant speed providing the correct crawler wheel size has been entered into the controller NOTE When selected the AUTO indication light will illuminate Whilst cable is being retrieved the DRUM ACTIVE indication light will illuminate green Pressing the red STOP key will stop the crawler and brake If the crawler is already braking pressing the STOP key will toggle the brake P350 flexitrax Operation Manual 61 In manual mode to increase the speed of the crawler press To decrease the speed of the crawler press Pushing the joystick upwards will increase the crawler s forward speed A sustained push of the joystick will accelerate the crawler until it reaches its maximum speed Pulling the joystick backwards will slow the crawler s forward speed A sustained pull of the joystick will slow the crawler until it stops AUTO Auto mode Continuous pulling of the joystick will result in crawler retrieval MAN Manual mode Continuous pulling of the joystick will drive the crawler backwards Pressing the STOP button on the

Connect the crawler cable termination to the terminal on the back of the crawler s body use a 3mm Allen key to tighten the cable termination s C clamp Cable strain relief and spring guard The cable connecting the crawler to the drum features a strain relief assembly and a stainless steel spring guard The spring guard helps to protect the cable end against damage to the cable sheath Figure 2 13 illustrates the strain relief clamp and spring guard Ensure that there is sufficient slack on the cable when the lanyards are taut Ensure the D shackle retention pin s heads are pointing upwards CAUTION Never use the system without the strain relief properly assembled Failure will damage the termination and may result in the crawler being disconnected from the cable Figure 2 13 Strain relief clamp and spring guard The metal lanyards are about 45cm in length allow an additional 5 10cm of slack cable to ensure function Crawler deployment tools The crawler deployment grab tools for the P354 and P356 crawlers are optional accessories that allow an operator to safely deploy and remove a crawler into manholes culverts and other access points The grab tool can deploy and remove the crawler in conduits up to five meters 16 5 feet deep Using the crawler grab tool is highly recommended Using all four of the supplied guide rods Deployment depth is limited to the length of the Bowden cable CAUTION The rods are not
