14. er of changes will happen which we will try to outline as simply as possible here In the final quarter of 2013 the government will auction off frequencies in the 698 806 MHz range If your wireless microphone system is more than 2 or3 years old it is likely to be in this range From January 1 2014 successful bidders of these frequencies can begin to use them and if your wireless microphone interferes with the owner of these frequencies you must stop using your wireless mic It is expected that this frequency range will predominantly be used for mobile broadband On March 11 2015 the current licence for the 698 806 MHz band will expire and wireless microphone users in this range will not legally be able to operate From December 1 2013 it is anticipated that Maori TV will be allocated TV channels 38 and 39 which operate from 606 622 MHz therefore this range will be unavailable to wireless microphone users From 30th November 2013 the 582 606 MHz range will become available to wireless microphone users So what frequencies are available to wireless microphone users in the medium to long term It would seem that frequencies between 510 606 MHz and then 622 698 MHz will be the frequencies legally available however this is not the end of the saga Within those frequency ranges digital TV stations will also be operating and this will vary region to region If your wireless microphone is in this range it is unlikely to operate properly In order to
