1.    m ann           a      gt                              Er       lt              2     1    gt          ag       gt         E  NESTAR       XRS SCOPE SERIES    INSTRUCTIONS    XRS SCOPE SERIES    The XRS Scope Series offer several scope models that are packed with many of the popular features  that are ideally suited for Tactical Shooters     e Large 34mm scope tube diameter which allows for a brighter and clearer image quality    e The XRS Scope Mount is user customizable with a couple different Upper Ring accessories that are  included  for the flexible mounting of accessories and or a Micro Dot reflex optic to your scope       Scope centerline is 172  above the firearm   s rail which is the ideal scope height for AR15  MA rifles           5 Scope models have Blue Illuminated Reticles with seven brightness settings to help you see the  reticle in low light conditions    e XRS Scope is equipped with an Auto Locking Quick Release Mount for a secure  quick  easy  mounting and removal of the Scope from your firearm   s Weaver  Picatinny  MIL STD 1913 type  rails    e The XRS Mount is also flexible in that it can be converted to mount onto AR15  M4  M16 Carry  Handles  The XRS Mount has a see through base to allow the use of the Iron Sights even when  mounted onto the Carry Handle     NcSTAR Optics is also backed by our Lifetime Limited Warranty  We trust that you will receive  many years of enjoyment and service from your new XRS Scope     For optimum performance  please foll

XRS  Mount  you may reassemble the XRS Scope and Upper Rings back onto the  XRS Mount        Slotted Screw       Before you completely tightening the eight Upper Ring screws  you can  mount the XRS Mount to your Carry Handle  Place the XRS Mount onto the  Carry Handle with the XRS Screw protruding through the hole in the Carry  Handle  Use the supplied Thumb Nut to secure the XRS Mount to the carry  Handle  With the Upper Rings screws loose  you can adjust the scope eye  relief slightly by moving fore and aft in the XRS Mount  You only have a small  amount of adjustment  Follow the direction in the previous section on how to  properly secure the Upper Rings onto the XRS Mount and making sure the        Reticle is plumb and level  before you completely tighten the rings screws        BATTERY INSTALLATION    Your XRS Scope comes ready to use with a pre installed battery  If  the battery life expires or your scope no longer illuminates  follow these  simple instructions     1  The Battery compartment is located within the Rheostat Knob   2            top of the Rheostat Knob you will notice a thin cap  To remove  this cap grasp it firmly with one hand and twist it Counter Clockwise   3  while holding the rheostat knob firmly in place with the other  hand    3  Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly  Replace it with a       new 3 volt Lithium Battery type CR2032 only  Place the Battery in the Battery compartment with  the Positive         terminal facing out  Twist th
3.  the Windage Adjustment Clockwise  U  will move the crosshairs to the Left      moving your  bullet impacts Right   gt       Replace the Windage Cap once you have made all necessary adjustments     NOTE  Each click of adjustment changes the point of impact  where the bullet strikes the target  by the  amount shown on the chart below     Windage Elevation inches of movement per click    50 yards   100 yards 200 yards   300 yards 400yards  1 4    1 2    1    1 1 2    2                      We recommend the use of a bore sighting device to save time and ammunition when zeroing your    scope  This device will help you get on paper much quicker  Follow all of the instructions set by the  manufacturer of your bore sighting device very carefully  Once you have achieved a relative zero by way  of bore sighting  it is still necessary to shoot your firearm to ensure an accurate zero        44    CAUTION  ALWAYS      SURE TO REMOVE THE BORE SIGHTING DEVICE FROM YOUR  FIREARM BEFORE SHOOTING ANY LIVE AMMUNITION  FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT  IN DAMAGE TO YOUR FIREARM OR INJURY TO YOURSELF AND THOSE AROUND YOU     With some firearms it may not be possible to use a bore sighting device  In this case it will be    necessary to use a more traditional method of zeroing     WHEN OPERATING ANY TYPE OF FIREARM ALWAYS USE PROPER EYE AND EAR  PROTECTION  BE SURE TO USE YOUR FIREARM IN AN AREA THAT IS PERMISABLE  UNDER LOCAL  STATE  AND FEDERAL LAW       From a steady rest position  such as a shooti
4. e Battery cap back on to the Rheostat Knob and hand  tighten  Avoid using tools  such as pliers  to perform this procedure as this may cause damage to  the unit        IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT ANY OF THE PROCEDURES IN THIS MANUAL  ALWAYS  SEEK THE HELP OF A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL TO AVOID DAMAGE TO YOUR SCOPE  AND YOUR FIREARM     CARE AND MAINTENANCE    Your scope is fog proof  shock proof  and waterproof  However  you should never try to take it  apart or clean it internally  The exposed optical lens surfaces will perform their best if they are routinely  cleaned with a lens brush and or the lens cloth provided with your scope     For a deep cleaning  you can also use high grade camera lens paper and camera lens cleaning  solutions  Never use any other type of materials or solvents other than those designed specifically for  optical lenses to avoid damaging your scope  Clean the outer portion of the lens cavity first with cotton  swabs  clearing as much debris and dust as possible  Then  gently clean the lenses using a circular motion  starting in the center and ending at the edges  Do not rub the lenses continually  simply wipe in short  circular patterns     Maintain the exterior surfaces of the scope by removing dirt or sand by using a soft brush or a soft   dry cloth  You can also use a silicone treated cloth to restore luster and protect the scope against  corrosion  Be careful not to touch any part of the lenses with the silicone cloth     It is not necessary to lubr

6. ng bench  fire three to five round shot groupings at a    100 yard target    Observe where the bullets have struck the target and adjust the Windage and Elevation as  necessary until your point of aim matches your point of impact  Remember  at 100 yards each click  of adjustment will move the crosshairs of the scope roughly 1 2       Your firearm and scope are now zeroed for 100 yards  To change the zero distance of your scope  you can adjust the Elevation and Windage turrets as needed according to the ballistics of the  cartridge load you are using    ILLUMINATED RETICLE    Your XRS Scope is equipped with an Illuminated Reticle that can be turned On or Off by simply    rotating the Rheostat knob located on the left side of the turret housing     The reticle can be illuminated in Blue with multiple brightness levels  If you look closely at the top    of the knob you will notice a series of numbers     0    represents the OFF position  If you turn the knob  in either direction the reticle will illuminate in Blue  The Blue illuminated reticle have seven brightness  levels each     1    being the dimmest and    7    being the brightest  Adjust the brightness level as needed  in accordance with the surrounding conditions  The illumination will increase reticle visibility especially  during dusk and dawn  When the illumination is turned OFF the reticle will appear as normal  Black  Reticle   Be sure the Rheostat Knob is set to the    0    position when not in use to preserve batte
7. ount and carefully tighten the screws            Micro Dot  Mounting    Screws    If you have an NcSTAR DDAB  DDABG  DDABL  and DXDAB Micro Dot reflex optics will require an  Adapter Plate  Place the Adapter plate between the XRS Micro Dot Upper Ring Mount and the NcSTAR  Micro Dot  Be careful with the placement of the Battery  On Off switch  and the colored wires into their  proper location  You may have to use the longer Allen Head screws to compensate for the thickness of  the Adapter Plate     If the Micro Dot optic will not turn on  you may have to remove the Micro Dot to check that the  Battery was properly installed  The CR2032 battery should have the         Terminal facing out  down   If  the Micro Dot still does not turn on  it may be time to replace the battery with a New CR2032 Battery     The Upper Rings are attached to the XRS base mount via four Allen Head screws  To remove the  Upper Ring  turn the four Allen screws counter clockwise and remove the screws completely     Swap out the Upper Rings with the Upper Ring accessory you want mounted onto the scope  The  Upper Rings are designed to be mounted in either orientation  180 degrees or in the forward or rear  position on the XRS scope mount  The Upper Ring accessory will fit onto the 4X scope in either  orientation  But  if you have the 2X 7X scope you will have to pay attention of the Upper Ring  accessory when mounted by the Scope   s Magnification ring  Certain Upper Ring configurations may    interfere wi
8. ow all of the procedures in this owner s manual very carefully     KEY FEATURES          1  OCCULAR LENS 8  ALLEN SET SCREW  For Rail Tension adjustment   2  QUICK FOCUS EYEPIECE 9  RHEOSTAT KNOB  Illuminated Reticle Blue    3  BATTERY CAP 10  MAGNIFICATION RING  2X 7X models only    4  ELEVATION ADJUSTMENT  amp  CAP 11  WINDAGE ADJUSTMENT  amp  CAP   5  OBJECTIVE LENS 12  QUICK RELEASE LEVER   6  RECOIL LUG  Bottom of mount  13  AUTO LOCKING LATCH   7  LOCKING HEX NUT  For Rail Tension adjustment        CAUTION       SURE THAT YOUR FIREARM IS UNLOADED AND POINTED IN A SAFE  DIRECTION  PRACTICE SAFE FIREARM HANDLING PROCEDURES AT ALL TIMES        CAUTION  CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL OF THE MOUNTING PROCEDURES  FAILURE      DO  SO CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR SCOPE OR FIREARM    MOUNTING THE OPTIC     OR  wore      LOCKING       e    LOCKING SLOTTED  e LATCH                    SET SCREW    The XRS Scopes are equipped with an Auto Locking Quick Release Mount  Before mounting your  XRS Scope onto your firearm  your firearm should be placed on a secure platform such as a gun vise     To attach the Scope to a Weaver  Picatinny  MIL STD 1913 type rails  move the Locking Latch  located within the Quick Release Lever away from the lever pivot point  to unlock the lever  and then  swing the Quick Release Lever to the forward  Open  position     Seat the scope on top of your firearm   s optics rail with the Objective Lens pointing towards the  muzzle of the firearm  Shoulder the firearm and adjus
9. pen the Quick Release Lever and make small adjustments to the Allen Set Screw  Open and Close the  Quick Release Lever checking the tightness of the mount  Perform this action as many times as  necessary until the mount is set firmly atop the rail     4  Once you have properly tightened the Allen Set Screw and checked the rail tension of the mount  connection by opening and closing the Quick Release Lever  you can now tighten the Locking Hex Nut  to secure the adjustments you have made  Tighten the Locking Hex Nut with the Quick release lever in  the closed position for best results  Be sure not to over tighten the Locking Hex Nut to avoid stripping  it  You have now successfully mounted your scope and adjusted the rail tension of the mount  By    simply opening the Quick Release lever and pivoting the scope in the direction of the Locking Hex Nut   you can easily remove the scope from your firearm        CAUTION  IT DOES NOT TAKE A LOT OF FORCE      GET THIS UNIT MOUNTED  SECURELY  BE CERTAIN NOT TO OVER TIGHTEN THE ALLEN SET SCREW TO AVOID  STRIPPING THE THREADS  DAMAGE CAN ALSO OCCUR TO QUICK RELEASE LEVER IF  TOO MUCH FORCE IS APPLIED     FOCUSING YOUR SCOPE    Your XRS Scope is equipped with a Quick Focus Eyepiece on the rear of the Ocular Lens  easily    distinguished by the serrated ring  Once your scope is properly mounted you can focus your reticle to  ensure a clear and crisp image     body  To access the Elevation Adjustment  remove the Elevation Cap     adjustment
10. ry life     XRS Upper Ring Custom Configurations    The XRS includes four Upper Rings  Typically the two light weight Upper Rings will be installed onto  the XRS scope mount from the factory  Included in the box are a Micro Dot Upper Ring oun and an  Upper Ring Mount with Two Side Rails for attaching accessories like a flashlight and  amp   Laser     The Micro Dot Upper Ring Mount is compatible with NcSTAR DGAB and DXGAB    Micro Dot reflex optics  these Micro Dot models can be mounted directly to the XRS  Micro Dot Upper Ring Mount        NcSTAR DDAB  DDABG  DDABL  and DXDAB Micro Dot reflex optics will require an Adapter Plate to  accommodate the On  Off switch that these Micro Dot models have  If you have one of these Micro  Dot models and a Micro Dot adapter plate was not included  you may contact NcSTAR Tech Support  and request that an adapter be mailed out to you  NcSTAR Tech Support phone number is on the last  page of this manual     To install an NcSTAR Micro Dot optic onto the Micro Dot Upper Ring Mount   you will have to remove the lower Micro Dot rail mount  You accomplish this by  removing the two larger Allen Head screws located on the Top of the Micro  Dot  Separate the Micro Dot from its base mount and carefully place the Micro  Dot and the battery onto the XRS Micro Dot Upper Ring Mount with the optical  glass towards the muzzle of the firearm  Place the two Allen Head screws  through the Top holes of the Micro Dot to secure it to the Micro Dot Upper Ring  M
11. s     1  Hold your firearm and look through your scope in a  comfortable position to where you see a full field of view   Make quick glances through the eyepiece at a featureless   flatly lit area such as a wall or open sky    2  Rotating      eyepiece Counter Clockwise  0  will extend the  eyepiece outward  generally suitable for those who are Far  Sighted   Rotating the eyepiece Clockwise  0  will bring the  eyepiece back into the Ocular Lens housing  generally suitable  for those who are Near Sighted  Fine tune your adjustments  until the reticle appears clear and sharp    3  Once the eyepiece reaches the outer limits of adjustment  be  sure not to force it so as not to ruin the integrity of the seals        ZEROING YOUR SCOPE    Your XRS Scope is equipped with adjustment turrets for Windage and Elevation     The Elevation Adjustment turret is located on top of the scope    Turning the Elevation Adjustment Counter Clockwise  Y  will move  the crosshairs Up  1   moving your bullet impacts Down  4      Turning the Elevation Adjustment Clockwise      will move the  crosshairs Down  1   moving your bullet impacts Up  1      Replace the Elevation Cap once you have made all necessary       The Windage Adjustment turret is located on the right side of the    scope body  Remove the Windage Cap to access the Windage Adjustment     Twisting the Windage Adjustment Counter Clockwise  0  will move the crosshairs to the Right   gt     moving your bullet impacts Left   lt        Twisting
12. t the position of the scope on the optics rail until  you have achieved the proper eye relief and maximum field of view through the scope  Place the Scope  Recoil Lug placed into one of the cross slots on the rail  Swing the Quick Release Lever rearward  Closed   position to secure the Scope onto the rail     Your scope mount is the link between your firearm and your optic  It is very important to have a  solid connection between the two  in order to ensure a consistent zero and proper function of all the  components     ADJUSTING THE RAIL TENSION OF THE MOUNT     If the scope mount does not fit your firearms rail securely  you can adjust the rail tension of the  mount by following these instructions     1  To perform this action  move the Quick Release Lever to the Closed position pointing towards the  Ocular Lens  Eyepiece  Begin by loosening the Locking Nut on the left side of the mount  Using a  wrench  turn the Locking Hex Nut Counter Clockwise  O      2  Next  Slide the Locking Latch away from the lever pivot point and swing the Quick Release Lever to the  Open position pointing towards the Objective Lens  Using an Allen wrench  loosen the Allen Set Screw  in order to fit the mount onto the rail of your firearm  Once you have your scope positioned properly   close the Quick Release Lever  Now  tighten the Allen Set Screw until it is snug using an Allen wrench     3  At this point your scope and mount are in place  but they are not yet anchored to the firearm solidly   O
13. th access of the Magnification ring  So you may have to flip the mount 180 degrees or  mount it in the front ring location by the objective lens     You attach the Upper Rings to the XRS mount via the same four Allen Head screws per Upper Ring   Before you completely tighten the screws  you want to check and verify that the scopes reticle is plumb  and level in the mount  If the scope reticle is not plumb and level  you will have to loosen all 8 Upper  Rings screws until you can properly level the scope in the XRS mount  You want to tighten the Upper  Ring screws evenly  with equal gap on each side     Converting XRS Mount to AR15 Carry Handle Mount    The XRS Locking Quick Release mount can be converted over to an AR15 Carry Handle Mount  This will  require that you remove the XRS scope from the XRS Mount  You will have to remove all eight Upper Ring Mount  screws  After you have removed the scope and rings from the XRS Mount  you will have to remove the Quick  Release mount  On the bottom of the Quick Release mount are two Allen Head Bolts  remove the two bolts and  the Quick Release Mount can be removed     In the XRS packaging a Slotted Screw and a Thumb Nut are included  You  want to take the Slotted Screw and place it on Top of the XRS Mount through  the Hole closest to the middle of the XRS Mount  Use a flat blade screw driver  to screw the Slotted Screw through the Top of the XRS Mount  until the screw  bottoms out  After you have secured the Slotted Screw through the
