MARKETING PRODUCT UPDATE 740 Vital Signs Monitors Nurse Call Feature 6 2010 D The CASMED 740 line of vital signs monitors now includes a user selectable option allowing for additional Nurse Call alarm annunciation This feature is available in 740 human models only Customers are now able to O Choose Patient Alarm Pat Alms or All Alarms All Alms in the Setup Menu O Pat Alms High Low limit violations only Current implementation O All Alms High Low limit violations on any Equipment Alarms present with Audio and any Temperature Error conditions O The Nurse Call selection is saved during power cycle O The system default is Pat Alms O Vet units will remain Patient Alarms Hi Lo limit violation only AVAILABILITY Included on all new 740 monitors UPGRADE PATH Monitors can be upgraded with the new software revision that includes this feature as part of a standard preventative maintenance cycle Please contact Customer Service for details NURSE CALL INTERFACE Additional details The CASMED 740 Monitor provides an isolated relay switch closure output connection between two 2 of the pins on the DB9 RS232 output connector The output is compatible with most Nurse Call Systems in that there is no polarity to the connection When properly connected the Nurse Call Interface activates the Nurse Call System each time an alarm is activated on the monitor The delay time for the Nurse Call In2. terface to activate is less than 0 5 seconds The Nurse Call Option is available as a normally open closed on alarm or normally closed open on alarm depending upon how it is wired WARNING The connection to the Nurse Call Interface should only be installed by qualified service personnel See User Manual for complete details NOTE Even though the Nurse Call Interface allows remote alarm indication it does not replace appropriate bedside surveillance by trained clinicians For additional information contact CASMED Customer Support FOR WHAT S VITAL Toll Free 800 227 4414 Phone 203 488 6056 custsrv casmed com CAS Medical Systems Inc 44 E Industrial Rd Branford CT 06405 USA MPU 740 Nurse Call rev 00 6 2010
