Q Can I plug in USB Hi Speed Drive into USB 1 1 ports Yes However it will only run at the speed of USB 1 1 Q Can I use USB Hi Speed Drive at the same time with USB 1 1 devices Yes USB Hi Speed devices can coexist with USB 1 1 devices Q Can I plug in more than 1 drive at the same time Yes Make sure Macintosh finishes mounting each device on the desktop before you plug in another Q Can I use this device with OS 9 amp OS X Yes Most modern Macintosh comes with built in USB high speed port already However if you own an older model you must make sure you have a USB Hi Speed card installed and driver loaded so you can take advantage of USB Hi Speed Starting from OS X 10 2 8 the USB Hi Speed is supported by the OS If you have older OS you will be transferring data at the lower speed of USB 1 1 Q Can I format the drive in the Macintosh Yes you can format the drive in OS X OS 9 does not support formatting of external USB hard drive You need to purchase a hard disk utility that supports OS 9 to reformat the drive Q The drive icon does not show up on the desktop What can I do Try unplugging the drive from the system and plugging in again Try plugging into another USB port Also try plugging directly into the USB port and not through a USB hub Q Should I update my driver Yes it is a good idea to update the driver for your USB Hi Speed card Please check your manufacturer for the update It is also a good idea to ch
