Digital Power Insight GUI Congratulations on receiving your Lineage Power Digital Power Insight DPI kit Please follow these simple steps to install the software package 1 The DPI Software Tool Set is distributed as a zip file that can be downloaded from the link below Complete DPI Software Tool Set amp Documentation or DPI User Manual only 2 Extract the file dpi_setup exe from the zip file During the extraction a password is required which can be obtained from your Lineage Technical Representative typically the Field Application Engineer supporting you 3 Once the file dpi_setup exe has been extracted double click it to start the DPI installation process Once the software installation is complete you can follow these steps to get your Power Digital Power Insight GUI up and running Connect ribbon cable to evaluation board as shown in picture to ensure proper keying Connect other end of ribbon cable to USB Interface adapter box Use USB cable to connect USB Interface adapter box to PC running the Lineage Power Digital Power Insight GUI software 4 Connect a DC voltage source no greater than 14Vdc to the input Vin and GND studs of the evaluation board Please note Connecting the DC source to the output section may damage the module 5 The evaluation board is configured for the module to respond to the address of 28 decimal The Lineage Power Digital Power Insight GUI software package provides power2. engineers with a user interface that delivers control flexibility over their digital products The Digital Power Insight GUI communicates with PMBus enabled products specifically DLynx POLs via a USB to I2C adapter The software features continuous monitoring polling of input voltage output voltage and current as well as module status Status changes are automatically time stamped and logged by the software and are easily exported A Command Line Interface CLI is also available for a more in depth analysis of the transmitted data across the I2C bus The CLI is a useful tool for creating and executing user defined routines and scripts as well as the logging of data for future review or plotting In addition to its monitoring capabilities designers can use Lineage Power s Digital Power Insight GUI to configure and reconfigure voltages thresholds warnings and settings for individual power modules as well as save configuration specs Users can also use the software s built in auto detect functionality to identify modules on the I2C bus The software also gives engineers the ability to create custom configuration files to fine tune and optimize a variety of parameters to ensure the highest levels of performance and efficiency Part Number DIGITAL_POL_EVAL_KIT The kit contains Evaluation board Ribbon cable USB Interface adapter USB cable and Software
