CarvinAupio TRx3010A TRx3018A active suswoorers USER MANUAL TRx3010A TRx3018A The TRx3010A and TRx3018A are active 2500W X Drive DSP processed subwoofer systems with an additional amplifier output to power external cabinets The TRx3010A uses dual long excursion TSUB10 woofers with 2 5 inch voice coils The TRx3018A uses a cast frame TS18B woofer with a 23mm inside outside wound 4 inch voice coil Optimized presets for several Carvin cabinets are factory programmed for simple connect select and play ACTIVE 2500W SYSTEM The 2500W active X Drive DSP processed module provides a 1500W bridged amplifier for the internal woofers and an additional 1000W amplifier output for external main cabinets The internal X Drive DSP processing maximizes performance output and protec tion using up to 48dB oct crossover filters parametric EQ alignment delay and limiters Turn on the Enhanced Bass and the ultra low end will come alive lowering the cabinet s frequency range by another 15Hz and boosting the 35 50Hz response The DSP will control the output to keep this added response within the limits of the speaker CONNECT SELECT AND PLAY The external amplifier output is ideal for powering two TRx3903 s for a full range TRC A system or up to two TRx2115 s TRx3210 s TRx12N s SCx1115 s or any top main cabinets down to 4 ohm The internal X Drive DSP has been set up to maximize performance output of the preset Carvin ca

5. binets Don t have a Carvin main or not finding your cabinet Simply go to the Variable X Over preset select the crossover frequency and you are ready to go Don t need to power a top cabinet Go to the Sub only preset select the crossover frequency for the sub and you are ready to go CORNERSTONE OF THE TRC A COLUMN SYSTEMS The TRC A active column systems are compact powerful live sound systems with the TRx3010A or TRx3018A as the cornerstone for system amplification and DSP processing The TRx3903 columns complete the system s mid to high frequency coverage to produce wide and clear sound reinforcement Each TRx3010A or TRx3018A can drive two TRx3903 column elements The internal X Drive DSP proces sor maximizes performance output so all you need to do is select the TRx3903 preset plug in the speakers and play These systems are small enough to fit in a midsize hatchback but large enough to fill a large banquet hall with a full band FLEXIBLE AND FAST SYSTEM SETUP The TRx3010A and TRx3018A feature foot locating holes on top for stacking another TRx3010A or TRx3018A and allow stacking up to 4 TRx3210 line array elements without hardware The TRx3010A can be used flat or on it s side for a smaller footprint The top or side TRx3010A pole mounts and center TRx3018A pole mount can suspend two stacked TRx3903 s or any standard 1 3 8th pole mount equipped cabinet Two additional pole mounts on the TRx3018A matc
6. ce to the INPUT XLR to reach maximum volume A lower setting will increase volume a higher setting will decrease volume The factory setting is 1 4v X OVER CROSSOVER 58Hz through 160Hz OFF or pre loaded for Carvin Audio speaker presets For the Carvin Audio speaker presets this adjustment screen is bypassed the optimal settings for these speakers are pre loaded from system memory When using the Variable X Over or SUB ONLY preset this setting is available to adjust the Crossover frequency This is the high est frequency delivered by the TRx3010A TRx3018A subwoofer In the Variable X Over preset this is also the lowest frequency delivered to the SATELLITE SPEAKER output Smaller speakers usually require a higher setting because they cannot reproduce the lower frequencies while larger speakers can be used with a lower frequency setting A good starting point is to set this to slightly above the lowest freqency available from the external speaker 3dB rating This a 3rd order 24dB oct filter Use the OFF setting if you are using an external crossover device POLARITY NORMAL or REVERSE The Polarity setting will set the phase of the TRx3010A TRx3018A subwoofer to Normal or Reverse If subwoofers are placed at multiple locations in a room or if the external speakers are positioned far away from the TRx3010A TRx3018A low frequencies can be affected by phase cancellation If low freqencies are lacking or sound unusual try the Revers

11. l Carvin Audio speakers are pre programmed If there is no preset for your speaker manual settings are available Speakers can be chained together so long as the total impedance does not go below 4 ohms If you go below the minimum speaker load the amp may shut off or the red PROTECT LED may light To reset the protection circuit turn off the POWER switch and connect the recommended load 12 FAN INTAKE EXHAUST VENTS The power module features a variable speed fan which runs silent at low speeds Make sure the fan intake and exhaust vents are free from blockage at all times 13 AC IN AC OUT POWER JACKS amp FUSE Be sure to plug into the proper voltage using AC IN jack A detach able locking power cord is supplied for European 230V use a CEE 7 plug cord set Plug the cord into a grounded 3 prong power source No attempt should ever be made to use the amp without the ground connected The AC OUT connector can be used to power one or two units such as another TRx3010A TRx3018A a powered speaker or any device with 10A or less rating The FUSE is located internally near the AC input To check or replace first remove the power cord and then remove the amp module from the speaker enclosure and then remove the front panel to access the fuse The fuse type is a 250V Slow Blow rated at 15A A locking AC cord Carvin Audio part 120V16L7 120V model is supplied with the amp However a standard AC cord can be used To detach the cord from
12. n you first turn on the unit the display will indicate which preset is loaded To change settings use the UP DOWN SET and LEFT RIGHT buttons 6 SETTING BUTTONS SET Use the UP and DOWN SET buttons to load different presets for external speaker connections The LEFT and RIGHT buttons will allow editing of more advanced settings which are explained in the SETTINGS MENU section of this manual There are only a few to select from 7 INPUT THRU XLR CONNECTORS Connect the INPUT XLR to a signal source such as the output of a mixer The THRU XLR can be connected to more TRx3010A s TRx3018A s or other units 8 REMOTE LEVEL MUTE CONNECTOR This is a terminal block connector with 5 volt control of volume typically used in permanent installations Short the CTL and GND pins to MUTE 9 USB PORT The USB port is for updating system firmware such as additional Carvin Audio speaker presets for Carvin Audio speakers connected to the SATELLITE SPEAKER output 10 PROTECT LED The PROTECT LED indicates one of the protection circuits has activated and no sound will be heard from the amp To reset the amp turn the power off for about 10 seconds then turn it back ON If the PROTECT LED stays lit for more than 5 seconds check your SPEAKER OUTPUT cable connnections speaker impedance or a blocked fan intake 11 SATELLITE SPEAKER OUTPUT The SATELLITE SPEAKER output is a Twist Lock connector for powering external speakers Presets for severa
