19. ablishing a connection and communication occurs through a packet based protocol for data transfer reliabilty Gangpro 8XP Help Inserting DIP Devices Identifying PIN 1 on DIP devices Manufacturers use various methods to designate pin 1 on DIP devices but there will always be at least one way to identify PIN 1 The most common method is a notch formed on one end of the chip Align the chip with the notch towards you and PIN 1 is the pin closest to you on the right side of the chip Another method uses a square circle triangle or the number 1 etched or embossed into the chip package physically adajacent to PIN 1 ao eS eS CC UA 7 ial iN DIP 32 DIP 28 DIP 24 Aligning devices in the DIP ZIF socket The Gangpro 8xp accomodates 24 28 and 32 pin devices in a 32 pin ZIF socket Regardless of the physical size of your device always insert the devices with PIN 1 facing the front but positioned towards the rear of the ZIF socket A 32 pin device will fill the entire ZIF socket A 28 pin device will leave four empty ZIF pins two on each side at the front of the ZIF socket A 24 pin device will leave eight empty ZIF pins four on each side at the front of the ZIF socket Inserting devices in the ZIF socket e Open the ZIF socket by moving the small metal handle to the vertical position e Insert the device observing the proper alignment described above e Close the ZIF socket by moving the handle to the horizontal position Inse
