APPLY SCM Version 2 5 Release Notes This Release contains an INSTALL Macro it is HIGHLY recommended that you use it VOLUME toAPPLY SCM Install SubVolume where APPLY SCM was restored to RUN INSTALL Answer the question prompts If the INSTALL was not run using SUPER SUPER you will be given a list of Files to be FUP LICENSEd before you can run APPLY SCM WARNING This release requires that the Database is converted Do not attempt to start APPLY SCM until this conversion has been performed It is recommened that you use the Install Macro to perform the conversion see below However if you wish to perform the conversion manually the following steos MUST be performed in order VOLUME lt APPLY Database SubVolume gt SYSTEM SYSTEM FUP IN lt APPLY Restore SubVolume gt UpgraDB OUT lt Spooler Location gt PURGE SECPROFO Purge Old File if it exists new one will be created by SECCONV RUN lt APPLY Restore SubVolume gt SECCONV OUT lt Spooler Location gt RUN lt APPLY Restore SubVolume gt V21TOV25 OUT lt Spooler Location gt Converts the current V2 1 Files to the new Release 2 5 F ormat The original files are left untouched and renamed to xxxxxxxO RECOMMENDED UPGRADE USING INSTALL MACRO Shutdown APPLY SCM Use the nstall Macro to perform the U pgrade running under SUPER SUPER if you do not run under SUPER SUPER make sure that you have the appropriate security to replace files and create new files and you

8. mented as basis for future additional Approvals Supports Approval Groups an OR logic mechanism can be combined with Approver User Ds and Approval Groups for mixed AND OR logic Now supports Approval Templates for Set Like functionality when creating Approval Lists Approvals for Promote not including THAW and FREEZE and Demote added original Promotion Approval Thaw Promote P roduce F reeze retained as a NORMAL Approval Promotion with Contents now specifiable by Release Transition Three new Configuration Options ADD ONLY BY TEMPLATE if set to YES allows Approvers to ONLY be added by means of an Approval Template and MODIFY AFTER ADD if set to YES will allow Approver lists to be modified after they have been added otherwise they are set in concrete PROMOTION USER NAME a Guardian User Name that the Promote Server will be run as when performing either NORMAL promotions or a Promote with Contents Note the User Name MUST exist and have the appropriate RMS Security to perform the Promotion In order to provide this functionality the Promote Server must now be FUP LICENSEd If the PROMOTION USER NAME will not be used then the file PRMOTSRV must be owned by the RMS Catalog owner and PROGI D d as well as FUP LICENSEd Promote Server now issues SPI calls to RMSMON instead of using RMSCOM to perform the Promotion Promote with Produce Check is now much more robust New Function Approval Menu accessable from Main M enu
