1. install at water line inlet You may also need the following items to assist your installation e Adjustable wrench to install angle stop valve e Teflon plumbers tape use when installing angle stop valve e Plastic tubing cutter or scissors e 3 8 inch drill bit and drill if needed to drill hole in cabinetry to hide water line ALWAYS PLUG KLEARBAR MINI ELECTRICAL CORD INTO A GFCI PROTECTED POWER OUTLET There are multiple ways to connect your Klearbar Mini but regardless of your choice it is recommended to follow local plumbing codes or consider hiring a licensed plumber But should you decide to DIY do it yourself we have provided a basic blueprint to get you on your way Perhaps the easiest connection is to an existing water line already provided by your refrigerator ice maker Use a 1 4 union tee for this connection Connect 1 4 tubing into 1 4 stem elbow Connect 1 4 stem elbow into water line inlet port Connect 1 4 tubing into 1 4 union tee inserted into refrigerator water feed line 1 4 stem elbow 1 4 union tee DI KLEARBAR Connect To Existing Refrigerator Ice Maker Water Line use the included 1 4 union tee when connecting to a 1 4 water mains connection or use a brass compression union tee if desired alwavs use a plastic compression ferrule when connecting polvethvlene tubing using a brass union a brass compression ferrule mav cut into the plastic tubing and cause a leak BEFORE PLUGGING IN TO ELECTRICITV2. 4. iccant bag Desiccant bag removed 1 piece 7 BEFORE TURNING ON WATER PLACE HOT WATER SWITCH TO OFF POSITION and then plug the Klearbar Mini into a GFCI receptacle Open the water connection and allow to completely fill Once full prime the water pump by dispensing 10 ounces of water from the cold and hot tanks DI KLEARBAR Only after priming is it now safe to turn on the cold and hot water switches on the rear of the equipment Connect To Main beneath a Sink 1 Turn off COLD water supply line Use a wrench and disconnect the copper or braided riser tube generally connected to a 3 8 vertical thread as part of an on off valve threaded or soldered to the water main 3 Thread the included angle stop valve mains connector by first wrapping Teflon tape not included around the vertical mains thread Hand tighten then snugly tighten using wrench Then apply Teflon tape to downstream thread and reconnect the riser tube 4 Use the included 1 4 polyethylene tubing and connect using the compression fittings on the included mains connector 5 Next drill a 3 8 hole through sink or countertop near the final resting place of the Klearbar Mini Be extremely careful if drilling through a porcelain cast iron sink or granite countertop as damage may result Consult a professional if unsure with this procedure 6 Place the Klearbar Mini within a few feet of an available GFCI electrical socket and connect the included 1 4 stem elbow into the water inlet
