1. cable to close it off NOTE Not all targets have to be connected if they are not going to be used but there must be no gaps in the cable chain Target 1 acts as a server and must always be connected even if it is not to be shot at For example if targets 1 2 and 3 are to be used they must all be connected but targets 4 5 and 6 need not be connected if targets 2 5 and 6 are to be used target 6 needs to be connected to target 5 target 5 needs to be connected to target 2 using the connecting cables to by pass targets 3 amp 4 target 2 needs to be connected to target 1 and target 1 to the control box Use the small metal key to turn on the power from the battery which is constantly charged by a solar panel If the system does not work check all connections and refer to the user manual in the metal trunk in the shed to check the LED display in each electronics box2. Setting up the butts In the target shed look for the keys on a hook above the first aid box on the right inside the door From the black tin trunk collect the 5 target connecting cables with the blue black amphenol connectors at each end Go to the butts On the end wall near target 1 is a metal control box The black plastic simple key unlocks the door Inside is a coiled cable with a silver connector which should be plugged in to a socket with a key slot above it This cable has a waterproof blue black connector at one end NOTE This cable may have been stored in the target shed if it was wet when last put away Put the key in the key slot but do not turn it at this stage To uncover the targets untie the ropes and disconnect the bungees which hold down the covers reach up and pull down some cover between the mantlet edge and the target be careful if it has recently rained as there will be a pool of water in this part of the cover and continue to pull until the cover hangs down from the mantlet edge and the target is uncovered Trap the cover between the marker s stool and the back wall so it cannot blow up to obscure the target during shooting Raising the target needs 3 people two to raise it safely one to manoeuvre the stake This last person must NOT stand in the target well the targets weigh almost 100kg Take the numbered pointed stake from under the mantlet raise the target to its full height place the stake vertically i
3. n the well sharp end pointing upwards and lower the target so the pointed end of the stake enters the lower end of the old short range target upright holder which is about one quarter of the way from the left hand end of the frame as you stand facing the butt stop easier than it sounds when you have it all in front of you The stake is to keep the target at the correct height use a raising block under the stake if necessary to make sure the target is high enough Connect the target cables AFTER raising the targets Push aside the blue bags which cover the electronics boxes on each target and disconnect the blue black amphenol connectors from each other Turn only the knurled rings Never turn the blue body of the connector or the black cap on the end Start by plugging the waterproof connector on the cable from the box on the wall to its mate on target 1 then use the 5 cables to connect target 1 to target 2 2 to 3 etc Make sure the connectors are screwed together properly to keep them waterproof Again turn_only the knurled rings never turn the blue body of the connector or the black cap on the end They can be matched to each other only one way determined by a small groove inside one mating with a small projection in the other If the connectors do not go together easily with the knurled rings virtually meeting you have put them together wrongly This will leave one connector on target 6 unconnected Use the blanking cap attached to its
