1. beaters check that the hand mixer is unplugged from the mains supply then insert them fully into the slots at the base of the mixer Lower the beaters into the mixture before switching on the mixer The mixer has five speeds which are selected using the Speed Switch conveniently placed on the handle Use lower speeds to begin with and gradually increase to higher speeds if required The following speeds are suggested Speed 1 Dough or cake mixes Speed 2 3 Sauces short or puff pastry etc Speed 4 5 Puree cream egg whites etc You may wish to raise the mixer slightly before switching off to prevent excessive mixture clinging to the beaters Always turn the mixer off before completely removing the beaters from the bowl During mixing occasionally use a spatula not supplied to scrape mixture from the sides of the bowl to ensure that all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed 8 To remove beaters press the eject button CLEANING 1 To clean the outer surface of the mixer use a soft damp cloth and dry it afterwards with a dry towel Clean only after unplugging the mixer from the mains supply All removable parts on the hand mixer should be detached and cleaned thoroughly in warm soapy water after use2.
