P 100 5 3 9 2 Sample mode Current clamp The current clamp option in sample mode displays the value measured by the connected current clamp optional There is validation if a current clamp is connected If not clamp is connected the displayed value is meaningless Read the documentation of the supplied current clamp on zero ing and clamping Pressing the key returns to the sample mode CURRENT CLAMP U 5 54V I mA CLAMP 8 0mA 100 IST 203 User Manual x1 06 Page 32 of 47 IST 203 Hot Cutover Tool 5 3 9 3 Takeover mode Offset The offset control is intended for making slight adjustments to the IST 203 output This option is not to be used as method to make quick adjustments in case of an emergency The takeover offset option allows adjusting the IST 203 output while in takeover mode Since the IST 203 supports a wide range of loop impedances and the offset control depends greatly on the actual loop impedance it is required that a successful impedance check has been completed If no impedance check was performed or if the impedance check did not complete with success the following screen is displayed lt 100 TO If offset control is allowed the following warning is displayed Although the IST 203 output offset can be adjusted when a DCS is connected to the control loop it is strongly advised t

6. depends on the purpose of the migration If a DCS is replaced the connection can best be made on an accessible point where wires from the DCS are connected to the wires going to the field device This is often on connection terminals in a cabinet room were access is easy and conditions are optimal If wiring to de field device is to be replaced the connection can be made on the field device itself Method of connecting and other conditions may however not be ideal Selecting a wrong point of connection could lead to an open loop when wires are disconnected This will result in an undefined behavior of the field device Which method is used to connect the IST 203 to the loop depends greatly on the specific situation However every connection must be good electrically sound and safe mechanically thigh Possible connection methods are e g e Piercing probes this is a proven method of connecting if only isolated wires are accessible e Clamping probes if bare wire ends are accessible these could be used to clamp the leads to e Terminal plugs some terminals have designated plugs for measurement probes these can often be used to make a good and safe connection Other methods might be available in specific situations Make sure your connection is good and safe If needed try the connection in a safe environment before putting it in practice unacceptable as good or safe connection There is a high risk that the connection fails A Never u

20. anual x1 06 Page 18 of 47 IST 203 Hot Cutover Tool 5 Operations 5 1 Switching on and off The IST 203 has no on off switch This prevents accidentally switching off while in takeover To switch the device on press and hold the button until a beep sounds and the splash screen appears During the splash screen all LED s must be on To switch the device off select OFF from the main menu If there is no beep or if one of the LED s is not on during startup you must contact your supplier Do not use the device for migration purposes when this is the case During startup the battery capacity is checked If the battery is not fully charged the screen below is displayed It is possible to continue and start a migration but depending on the situation it could be better to first charge the battery THE BATTERY IS NOT FULLY CHARGED YOU CAN CONTINUE BUT CHARGING IS ADVISED CONTINUE OR If during startup the battery capacity is detected as being too low the screen below is displayed In this situation normal operation is blocked and the device has to be charged first lt 44 VP 24 1 1 1 1 startup When the device is already on it will stay on even if the battery capacity is very low Ci Blocking the usage of the device is only done when a low batt
