9. e Click the Viewers button Configure the Default Viewer selecting the groups you would like to be displayed in the Viewer The Viewer will automatically inherit all these settings when it connects Ensure the server is running Check in Settings or look for a green indicator near bottom left of application window Leave the Manager running Install Viewer on same machine Complete set up wizard leaving all settings as the defaults When the set up wizard is complete the Viewer will start to synchronise content with the Manager This may take some time Lightbox User Manual The Manager The Manager acts as a central repository for organising media content All content is held in the Library Images videos and audio tracks can have a title a description and a custom thumb The Library Items can be organised in to groups and a single item can be present in many groups A group can then be assigned to one or more Viewer Use the Lightbox Manager to build media collections and control local and remote Viewers Main Navigation Use menu buttons on the left of the interface give you access to the various areas of control Viewers Content x Settings Managing Content Manage the settings of any registered Viewers All media content is added and organised in to groups Control the settings of the Lightbox Manager here Manage how the Viewer looks and displays content Most of your contact with the Lightbox M

12. ed to manage the content 2 Add all content to the Manager and setup groups as appropriate 3 Click the Viewers button In this configuration the Default Viewer will act as the container that configures the remote Viewer Select all the groups that are to be included 5 Connect your external storage device Lightbox User Manual 10 11 12 13 14 Click the Settings button Click the Export button navigate to the external storage device in the file explorer window and hit click select Wait for the content to be exported this may take some time depending on the size of the Lightbox Manager s content Install the Lightbox Viewer on the kiosk machine Connect the external storage device Follow the setup wizard through to the end Once complete enter the Viewer s configuration mode by clicking the bottom left hand corner of the screen for 5 seconds Choose to import content In the file browser window navigate to the folder that contains the exported library Click select The files will start to import wait until finished The kiosk will act as the Manager and the Viewer This configuration is would be used where the Manager and the Viewer reside on the same machine Use this configuration when you only have one machine available to use with Lightbox or when there is no local network available 1 2 3 D E On Install the Lightbox Manager Add all content to the Manager and setup groups as appropriat

15. m to a group library items can exist in more than one group Follow the How To Import Media Files in to Manager for more information on adding media files If this is the first time your doing this it s a good idea to keep the number of items to say 20 or 30 until you are familiar with the process Once the media files have been imported in to the library you can start adding titles and description to each item Clicking the edit button on a media item to display a pop up that allows you to do this How To Edit a Media Item has more information So far you ve added groups imported media files and edited the titles and descriptions of the library items Now it s time to add the media items to the groups This is done by simply clicking and dragging an item over to the target group Note Keep in mind that media items can only be added to groups that are either empty or already have media items in them i e the children of that groups are not groups By default the library view will show as a list you can switch to a tile view by clicking the button near the top right of the application With the groups and library ready it s time to move to the Viewers section click on the Viewers button on the left If this is the first time you ve installed the Manager on this machine there will be no Viewers to show these are picked up automatically when they contact the Manager To speed up the process up there is a Default Viewer which can be

18. ups click the Viewers button and setup the Default Viewer 5 To set up the Viewer you ll need the IP address of the Lightbox Manager machine 6 Nowit s time to set up the Viewer s Move to the kiosk machine you ll need a keyboard and mouse to complete the installation 7 Install the Viewer on the kiosk Follow the set up wizard until you get to Server amp Library Setup You will need the IP address of the machine where the Manager is installed Fill in the Address with the IP address and click next 8 When the setup wizard is complete the Viewer will attempt to contact the Manager If content has been added to the Manager and Default Viewer was setup new content should start to synchronise The time it takes to complete will depend on your network conditions and the amount of data that needs to be transferred The kiosk needs to be managed remotely but it has no has no network access This configuration might be appropriate where the Manager is installed on a laptop that isn t always connected to the network With no network access the Viewer s content library will need to synchronised manually with the Manager s content This method requires an external storage device like a USB drive big enough to hold the entire Lightbox Manager library Every time changes are made to the Manager s library the import export process will need to be repeated 1 Install the Lightbox Manager on the machine to be us
