V90 AMP Digital Power Amplifier with 24 bit 48kHz Asynchronous USB DAC Instructions 1 Sp MUSICAL FIDELITY STATUS a Units 24 26 Fulton Road Wembley HA9 OTF England 44 208 8900 2866 http www musicalfidelity com For warranty please register product on http www musicalfidelity com register Operation Volume function The unit can be used as a volume controlled amplifier or a straight power amplifier To enable the front panel volume control slide the volume control switch back panel to the on position The knob on the front panel now controls volume to speakers To disable the front panel volume control slide the volume control switch back panel to the off position The knob on the front panel is now defeated and volume control will need to be applied from within the source for example by a computer s multimedia mixer settings Input select This unit will switch inputs automatically dependant on signal presence or absence When playing i e signal is present through the USB input takes precedence over anything plugged into the 3 5mm Jack plug So the unit will automatically select the USB input To switch to the OPTICAL ANALOGUE input STOP the USB music player on the computer and or remove the USB input lead The unit will then switch to OPTICAL ANALOGUE input accordingly Selecting between analogue and optical input is simply a matter of plugging the required lead into the OPTICAL ANALOGUE inpu

7. l 0 3dB 90 250Vac universal mains Mac users Check the computer has picked up the device and is currently using it by clicking MAC OS X System preferences Hardware Sound Check that Musical Fidelity V90 AMP is selected under the OUTPUT tab If the computer s warning sounds chimes are to played through the internal DAC make sure it is selected under the SOUND EFFECTS tab too This device is a high speed serial data processor and by its nature requires a very high volume of USB bandwidth It will benefit greatly trom being the only device connected on its USB port Sharing the same port with other devices may cause unwanted artefacts such as dropouts This especially includes the use of the unit on a USB hub splitter alongside other USB components With the USB cable plugged in the internal USB DAC is automatically recognised no matter what input is currently selected When INPUTS selector switch is set to USB the green LOCK LED will light to show that the USB DAC is correctly setup The green LOCK LED goes out when the INPUTS switch is set to LINE position but the internal USB DAC is still connected and ready to use whenever required into 8 Ohms Suitable for speakers 6 ohms minimum A weighted A weighted 10Hz to 20 kHz 1 stereo 3 5mm jack connector 1 optical 3 5mm jack combined with line level input above 1 Type B asynchronous 16 24 bits up to 48kHz sample rate
