Motions and gestures The Motions and Gestures settings allow you to set up various Motion activation services m From the Settings screen under MOTION tap Motions and gestures Air browse Air browse allows you to scroll through pages or go to the next or previous item in a list by moving your hand up and down or left and right above the sensor located at the middle top of your display 1 From the Settings screen under MOTION tap Motions and gestures gt Air browse 2 Ina single motion touch and slide the slider to the right to turn it on ZS 3 Tap on the applications that you would like to enable to use the Air browse feature A checkmark will appear 4 When using a supported application move your open hand across the screen to use Air browse Direct call With the Direct Call feature your phone will dial the currently displayed onscreen Contact entry as soon as you place the device to your ear 1 From the Settings screen under MOTION tap Motions and gestures gt Direct call 2 Ina single motion touch and slide the slider to the right to turn it on HS Smart alert Once Smart alert is enabled you can pickup the device to be alerted and notified if you have missed any calls or messages 1 From the Settings screen under MOTION tap Motions and gestures gt Smart alert 2 Ina single motion touch and slide the slider to the right to turn it on BC Changing Your Settings 108 Mute Pause Once enabled

Tap Optional settings to access the following Repeat weekly Tap the Repeat weekly checkbox to have the alarm repeat on the same day every week e Alarm type sets the way in which the alarm sounds when activated Melody Vibration Vibration and melody and Briefing e Alarm tone sets the sound file which is played when the alarm is activated Select an option or tap Add for additional options e Alarm volume drag the slider to adjust the alarm s volume Snooze use this option to set a Duration 3 5 10 15 or 30 inutes and Snooze repeat 1 2 3 5 or 10 Times Tap the ON OFF slider to activate e Smart alarm tracks body movements and calculates the best ime for sounding the alarm Place the phone somewhere on your bed then the phone s movement sensor also known as accelerometer is sensitive enough to work from any part of the bed Set the Interval and the Tone Tap the ON OFF slider to activate e Name allows you to use a specific name for the alarm The name will appear on the display when the alarm activates Tap Save to store the alarm details Turning Off an Alarm m To stop an alarm when it sounds touch and sweep the e icon to the right Setting the Snooze Feature m To activate the Snooze feature after an alarm sounds touch and sweep the icon to the left Snooze must first be set in the alarm settings For more information refer to Alarm on page 171 Deleting Alarms

Note As you add applications the number of Application menu panels automatically increases Navigating Using Sub Menus Sub menus are available when you are at any Home screen or have selected a feature or application such as Phone Contacts Messages or Internet To access a sub menu 1 Tap H A sub menu will appear at the bottom of the phone screen 2 Tap an option 25 Accessing Recently Used Apps 1 Tap from any screen to open the recently used applications window 2 Tap an icon to open the selected application or Tap D to go to the Task manager or Tap E to delete the record of all recently used applications Using the Multi Window This feature allows you to run multiple applications on the current screen at the same time Note Only applications found within the Multi window panel can be active atop another current application on the screen Turning Multi window On and Off There are two different ways you can turn the Multi window feature on and off To turn Multi window On using the Quick Start bar 1 In a single motion touch the Status bar to reveal the Notifications tab and then drag it to the bottom of the screen to open the Notifications panel 2 Swipe the row of Quick Start icons to the left until the Multi window icon is displayed 3 Tap the Multi window entry to turn the feature On The icon turns green when On 4 Tap Home em to return to the Home screen 5 Tap the tab to ope
5. e Edit channels allows you to add or remove channels from your custom list Press and hold a channel number to update the channel entry e Settings provides access to the Samsung Smart Remote settings menu e About displays onscreen information about the application e Help displays onscreen help information Personalize Smart Remote You can personalize your application to do things such as show content only from your selected media categories or add an additional room s set top box To configure your Just for you settings The Just for you option displays available content matching your activated media categories These categories can be configured during your initial set up or at any later time 1 2 Sign into your Samsung account From the main Smart Remote screen tap Combined View gt Just for you From the On TV tab tap H and then select Settings Access parameters such as Basic profile Genres and Sports to then configure and enable those parameters you would like to show in the Just for you tab To add a new room Your device can be used to control boxes receivers from several rooms You could go from controlling your set top box in your living room and then move into your bedroom to do the same 1 Sign into your Samsung account From the main Smart Remote screen tap the On TV tab Tap H and then select Settings gt Add room Name the new room and tap Next Enter your current zip code and tap D

7. erst AM 00 12 Call S Iw march 24 Making an International Call 1 From the Home screen tap W Phone then touch and hold 0 The character appears 2 Use the onscreen keypad to enter the country code area code and phone number e Ifyou make a mistake tap ER until the desired numbers have been deleted 3 Tap to make the call 49 Manual Pause Dialing To manually call a number with pause s without storing it in your Contacts list SS 1 From the Home screen tap Phone and use the onscreen keypad to enter the phone number 2 Tap H to display the dialer sub menu 3 Tap Add 2 sec pause to add a three second pause and use the keypad to enter the additional numbers Tip You can create pauses longer than two seconds by entering multiple two second pauses 4 Select Add wait to add a wait A wait will pause the calling sequence until you enter a number or press a key 5 Tap to make the call For more information refer to Adding Pauses to Contact Numbers on page 62 Correcting an Entered Number Use the following steps to correct a mis typed entry when dialing m After entering a number using the keypad e If you make a mistake tap ER to erase a single character e Press and hold ER to erase the entire string of numbers Dialing a Recent Number All incoming outgoing and missed calls are recorded in the Call log If the number or caller is listed in your Contacts List the associated name

9. 1 From the Settings screen under MOTION tap Le Air view Accounts This menu allows you to set up manage and synchronize your accounts m From the Settings screen under USER AND BACKUP tap Accounts Adding an Account 1 From the Settings screen under USER AND BACKUP tap Q Accounts gt B Add account Tap one of the account types Use the keyboard and follow the prompts to enter your credentials and set up the account Agreen circle will appear next to the account type once you have created an account Your email account will also be displayed in the My Accounts section of the main Accounts menu Removing an Account Important Removing an account also deletes all of its messages contacts and other data from the device From the Settings screen under USER AND BACKUP tap Q Accounts Tap the account which is located in the My Accounts section Tap the account name Tap E gt Remove account then tap Remove account at the prompt to remove the account and delete all its messages contacts and other data Changing Your Settings 110 Synchronizing Accounts Back up and reset Select the items you want to synchronize on your account The Back up and reset settings allow you to back up your such as Books Calendar Contacts and more data back up accounts automatically restore your phone 1 From the Settings screen under USER AND BACKUP tap and reset your phone settings to the factory settings Q

Note Disconnections are manually done but often occur automatically if the paired device goes out of range of your phone or it is powered off Connections 156 Deleting a paired device unpair Deleting a device from your list removes its connection record and upon reconnection would require that you re enter all the previous pairing information 1 157 Verify your Bluetooth is active To access the Bluetooth Settings menu on page 154 From the Bluetooth settings page tap E next to the previously paired device This opens the connected device s menu options Tap Unpair to delete the paired device Tap Rename to change the name of the paired device Tap Call audio to enable or disable call audio from the paired device Tap Media audio to enable or disable media audio from the paired device USB Tethering This option allows you to share your device s mobile data connection via a direct USB connection between your device and a single computer Note You can not mount your device s microSD card to your computer while using the USB tethering feature If additional software or USB drivers are required navigate to http www samsung com us support downloads To connect using USB Tethering 1 From any Home screen panel tap E Apps gt O Settings Under NETWORK CONNECTIONS tap Tethering and Wi Fi hotspot Plug in the USB cable between your computer and your device 4

Accessing Additional Panel Functions In addition to notifications the Notification panel also provides quick and ready access to separate device functions These can be quickly activated or deactivated by toggling them on or off You can choose the functions that will be displayed 1 From the notification panel tap D to display additional Quick setting options By default the following Quick setting options are located in the top two rows and can either be activated green or deactivated gray Wi Fi Location Sound Screen rotation Bluetooth Mobile data Download booster U power saving Multi window and Toolbox 2 Tap EI then locate the Set quick setting buttons area located at the bottom of the Notification panel 3 Ina single motion touch and hold a desired function from the bottom AVAILABLE BUTTONS rows and then drag it to the top two ACTIVE BUTTONS rows Additional Quick setting options are Screen Mirroring NFC Sync Smart stay Smart pause Power saving Blocking mode Airplane mode Car mode Private mode and Touch sensitivity Tap Brightness adjustment to create a checkmark if you want to be able to adjust the screen brightness via the Notification panel Tap Recommended apps to select applications you want to display on the Notifications panel to turn this feature on Tap and then tap LS to display only your primary functions Understanding Your Phone 40 Entering Text Your dev
