VarizZoom VZ PG L Pistol Grip LANC Caries oh m Camera Control Operating Manual Thank you for purchasing the VariZoom VZ PG L remote variable speed zoom and focus controller for LANC enabled camcorders We think you re going to like it a lot Here are some important guidelines for safe and effective operation Connection insert the VZ PG L cable plug into your camera s LANC jack only Do not plug into any port not clearly labeled specified as the LANC iack vou mav need to consult vour camera manual CAUTION Do NOT plug control into ANY OTHER JACK or DAMAGE may result to your camera and control DO NOT PLUG IN TO ANY PANASONIC CAMERA Power The VZ PG L does not require batteries or external power Just plug the cable into the camera s LANC jack and its ready to use Tripod Jib Mount Your VZ PG L comes with a heavy duty clamping system to attach firmly to your tripod pan handle shoulder support or camera crane jib Extension LANC cables are available from VariZoom Recording Press the red button next to the rocker to activate the record pause function The red LED will light up when camera is recording and may also blink to give to indicate low battery power and end of tape ZOOM Press the rocker on the right side for zoom in Telephoto Press the rocker on the left side for zoom out Wide Zoom speeds are dependent upon the position of the speed control knob Variable Zoom and Speed Settings Turn the sp
3. eed control knob all the way clockwise until it stops This is your slowest speed setting By pressing on either the right or left side of the rocker the lens will zoom either in or out While pressing the rocker down roll the knob with your index finger counter clockwise to variably speed up and clockwise to variably decrease speed see picture at right Manual FOCUS To utilize the VZ PG L s focus feature put your camera in manual focus mode consult camcorder instructions The two buttons are located above the zoom rocker switch on the VZ PG L and will control manual focus functions on all compatible cameras One button pushes the focal plane farther away and the other brings the focal plane closer to the camera Canon XL1 XL2 GL1 GL2 users note the manual focus buttons are disabled while shooting in Green Box full auto mode even if the lens switch is set to manual ON OFF The recessed red button on the control will power up camcorders that have gone into auto standby mode If the camera should go into standby mode pressing this button will bring it back to full operating mode If you wish to intentionally put the camera into standby mode press the button and hold it in for 2 seconds press it again to power it up a Warranty Warning Do not open your control device this may void your warranty and possibly damage the control If you need service contact Varizoom for a Return Merchandise Authorization number RMA
