Title Page Report Details Observations Comments Print This Page SP Inspection Report Dated 25 March 2013 This report details the findings of the pipe inspection conducted by on behalf of Figure 9 6 Viewing reports in a web browser 1 Connect the memory storage device to your PC If your memory device is a Compact Flash you can use the built in PC USB connection See Section 7 5 for more details on how to connect your controller to a PC 2 Once your computer recognizes the controller use Windows Explorer to locate the survey folder 3 You can then copy or move the report folder to your computer or view it directly from your memory storage device 4 Using Windows Explorer locate the report html file in the report folder 5 Open report html with a web browser 6 If prompted allow Active Content by right clicking the yellow warning bar at the top of the screen and select the Allow Active Content option The report will load and display the navigation frame on the left and the title page on the right To assist navigation the report is presented in a similar fashion to a web site or a PDF document with bookmarks see Figure 9 6 The report is divided into two frames Tile Pave e The navigation frame on the left displays a link to each page and a print Report Details link that prints the currently displayed page Refer to Figure 9 7 Observations Comments e The content frame on the right d

7. e Digital video files are quickly becoming very popular as they can be easily edited and digitally stored on company servers More advanced DVD players can also play some video files Digital video files can be distributed on CDs DVDs flash memory or even electronically via the internet depending on size Once you decide on the distribution media you must know if they will play their video DVD or digital file on a television or a PC Most televisions even modern LCDs and stand alone DVD players and recorders are designed for standard broadcasting As such they may be unable to display or record the video produced by the P340 flexiprobe system correctly This is because the controllers make use of the entire 4 3 video picture available whereas standard broadcasts usually do not NOTE 4 3 refers to the standard aspect ratio of PAL and NTSC broadcasts priors to the advent of standard and high definition widescreen broadcasts Depending on the implementation of over scan the ability to display the entire 4 3 picture space different TVs and DVD players will show different video sizes varying between the full 4 3 picture and the broadcasting Graphics safe areas The 4 3 Action Safe area is defined to be between 3 3 and 3 5 smaller than the 4 3 full video size The 4 3 Graphics Safe area is defined to be between 5 and 6 7 smaller than the 4 3 full video size This is illustrated in Figure 10 2 4 3 VIDEO 4 3 SAFE AREA

ACTION T77 4 3 SAFE AREA GRAPHICS Figure 10 2 4 3 aspect ratio video space The P340 controllers offer a number of different On Screen Information and text layouts that will optimize your video recordings and analog video output signals to suit your desired target audience P340 flexiprobe Operation Manual 65 Setting the P340 flexiprobe controllers for PC or TV screen To produce a DVD or digital video file recording to be played on a TV screen set your On Screen Information layout to TV To produce a DVD or digital video file recording to be played on a PC screen set you OSD layout to Normal see Section 5 10 for more information on how to set On Screen Information layouts Producing a DVD video The quickest ways to produce a DVD disc from a P340 flexiprobe recording are e Using a PC or Mac computer or e Using a DVD recorder Using a PC or Mac computer To produce a video DVD using a PC or Mac you will need a computer equipped with a DVD burner and a compatible authoring program from a reputable supplier Nero 8 or later and Xilisoft s DVD Creator supports H 264 AAC recordings for Windows based PCs Roxio Toast is available for Mac Users These programs feature easy to use wizards that guide you through the conversion and burning process To produce the DVD just select the MP4 recording that you want to convert and select the DVD Video creation function NOTE You will have to set the

DivX and Xvid AVI files A popular file format supported by many newer DVD players and many portable digital players is DivX You can re encode our files in AVI DivX by using a suitable video converter DivX CODECs for Windows and Mac are available to download freely for personal use Xvid is an open source implementation of the DivX CODEC Most Xvid encoded files will play on a DivX certified player The advantages of this format are e Good quality at reduced file size e Wide playability with digital media players and some domestic DVD players e Does not require a DVD or CD burner to produce The disadvantages of this format are e Encoding process can take longer than other formats e Requires a suitable CODEC or a compatible media player to play on computers QuickTime MOV files The QuickTime format is based on a similar H 264 CODEC as the native P340 flexiprobe video format thus it enjoys the same quality to file size ratio The QuickTime format is playable on PC and Mac computers using Apple s QuickTime media player The advantages of this format are e Good file size to quality ratio e Preferred video file format for Apple Mac computers e Playable on Apple s range of personal media players and smartphones e Is suitable for embedding in web pages for distribution on the internet e Does not require a DVD or CD burner to produce The disadvantages of this format are e Encoding process can take up to three times lon

17. be fitted one way round Loosen the two M6 x 20mm screws that hold the two halves of the collar together and insert the flexi with the camera attached into the collar Ensure the camera abuts the screw end of the collar and tighten the two screws evenly and firmly P340 flexiprobe Operation Manual 13 A fully charged P340 internal battery pack will power the system for up to 5 hours depending on usage and system configuration To charge the internal battery connect the battery charger lead to the power lead Figure 4 2a The first time you charge this battery you should allow at least 6 hours to fully charge it When fully charged the status indicator will light up as a solid green with no flashing To use the battery connect the battery power lead to the controller DC input as shown in figure 4 2b below Keep the power connector clean and dry at all times Cover the power lead connector on the box when it is not in use A WARNING Use only the supplied battery charging options Do not plug any other Pearpoint connectors into the Li lon charger socket Protect the charger against high relative humidity and water Do not attempt to open the charger Do not use the charger for charging other batteries Failure to comply will damage the charger The P340 flexiprobe battery contains Li lon cells Follow local and national regulations for the correct handling of battery cells Including environmental and shipping considerations

20. protection PPE when handling the P340 flexiprobe A WARNING The camera will get hot with use This is normal Exercise care when handling the camera consider gloves A A WARNING System components must NOT be connected or disconnected when the power is on Do not touch any connectors while the system is live Take care to ensure that video and power cables don t become entangled in the reel Cable ties are recommended and will not impede system performance Always store the P340 flexiprobe system in a clean and dry environment A WARNING Always carry out a risk assessment of the site to be inspected This equipment is NOT approved for use in areas where potentially explosive or otherwise hazardous gases vapors liquids or solids may be present Ensure that standard safety precautions for working in hostile environments are followed Including manual handling biological hazards and personal injury The P340 flexiprobe system requires connection to a protective earth if in doubt consult a qualified electrician Electrical equipment is factory tested for electrical safety Routine inspection is recommended and may be required by law to maintain this level of protection If you are unsure contact your local safety authority for advice Always use heavy duty industrial gloves when withdrawing rod from a sewer The distance counter should only be used as an estimation Radiodetection recommends the use of a sonde and a Radiod
