9. and outside in active status Airborne with a fixed ground zero reference measuring 8 times per second Vigil will work correctly even when used in a pressurized cabin as long as the pressure differs at least 5hPa compared to the atmospheric air pressure at takeoff II handboek Engels indd 20 D 10 09 12 08 09 e A 3 Vigil is the most accurate AAD on the market It becomes operational in a zone of 150Ft 46m above or under take off level To avoid unexpected firing of the cutter you must switch OFF your Vigil before travelling in a closed vehicle car bus train due to possible air pressure variation However there is no problem travelling in an open vehicle at the drop zone altitude A 3 As long as your Vigil is not measuring the switch on pressure or its ground zero reference at 150ft or 46m it will stay airborne and will not switch off even after 14 hours This as long as the ground zero reference pressure at 150ft or 46m is not measured Therefore you need to switch off your Vigil before any move to another location and switch on your Vigil at the new dropzone to implement the new ground zero reference A 3 When opening the door of an aircraft during flight and while in the activation zone below 500 m or 2 o 1 640 ft it should be verified if there are any Vigils on board set in Student Mode Certain aircrafts can create a pressure spike that can activate a Vigil AAD when it s set in Student
