6. 1 Power off the FR6000 Series 2 Open the memory card cover on the side of the FR6000 Series Figure 1 6 microSD Card Installation 3 Insert the card with the card contacts facing up and the cut corner on the left until you feel a click 4 Close the memory card cover To remove the microSD card 1 Power off the FR6000 Series Open the memory card cover Carefully press and release the card to eject it Be O N Remove the card from the card slot 5 Close the memory card cover 23 Getting Started Adjusting the Handstrap The FR6000 Series handstrap is attached to the bottom of the battery cover Adjust the handstrap to increase comfort when holding the FR6000 Series for extended periods of time To adjust the handstrap 1 Feed the handstrap through the handstrap slot in either direction to tighten or loosen 2 Secure the handstrap by pressing the two sides together Removing the Screen Protector A screen protector is applied to the FR6000 Series Motorola recommends using this to minimize wear and tear Screen protectors enhance the usability and durability of touch screen displays To remove the screen protector lift the corner using a thin plastic card such as a credit card then carefully lift it off the display Figure 1 7 Removing the Screen Protector N CAUTION Do not use a sharp object to remove the protector Doing so can damage the display V NOTE Not using a screen protector can

10. code types Intuitive aiming for easy point and shoot operation ocanning Considerations Typically scanning is a simple matter of aim scan and decode and a few quick trial efforts master it However consider the following to optimize scanning performance e Range Any scanning device decodes well over a particular working range minimum and maximum distances from the bar code This range varies according to bar code density and scanning device optics Scanning within range brings quick and constant decodes scanning too close or too far away prevents decodes Move the scanner closer and further away to find the right working range for the bar codes being scanned 45 Using the FR6000 Series e Angle Scanning angle is important for promoting quick decodes When laser beams reflect directly back into the scanner from the bar code this special reflection can blind the scanner To avoid this scan the bar code so that the beam does not bounce directly back But don t scan at too sharp an angle the scanner needs to collect scattered reflections from the scan to make a successful decode Practice quickly shows what tolerances to work within e Hold the FR6000 Series farther away for larger symbols e Move the FR6000 Series closer for symbols with bars that are close together V NOTE Scanning procedures depend on the application and FR6000 Series configuration An application may use different scanning procedures
