1. Check that the steel wall is reinforced and use a drill a hole of suitable diameter then attach the Copyboard with tapping screws E 14 Assembling and Installing the Copyboard 3 Insert the copyboard into the top of the wall mount fitting Insert the rail groove on the rear of the copyboard into the wall mount fit ting then making sure it is properly inserted gently lower the copyboard into place Wall mount fitting Se Rail groove in copyboard N CAUTION When mounting the copyboard onto the wall mount fitting be sure to hold the copyboard at the top then pull it towards you to check that it is properly inserted into the rail groove Failure to do so could lead to the copyboard falling resulting in injury 3 Insert the fixing bracket into the rail groove in the bot tom of the copyboard and fasten it in place using an M4 screw Pull the copyboard slightly catch the fixing bracket in the rail groove in the bottom of the copyboard and shift it to the center If the marks made at under 1 are off correct the hole positions then secure the wall mount fitting using screws appropriate for the structure and material of the wall Secure the wall mount fitting using com mercially available screws See page 1 E 14 for instructions on securing the wall mount fitting wal Rail groove

11. turn off If the ON Standby button is pressed the LEDs on the display window turn on EMoving the sheet surface manually The sheet can be moved even when the power of the copyboard is switched off The sheet can be moved with your hand either in left or right Please place your hand at the vertical center and move the sheet slowly Quick movement can cause damage to the drive mechanism of thecopyboard E 20 Using USB Memory Saving Image Files to a Personal Computer and Deleting Image Files This is an operation example of storing the image file that has been stored in USB memory on the hard disk of the personal computer or deleting the folder when the USB memory capacity has become full There are vari ous methods that can be used for saving and deleting including the use of Explorer See the instruction manual of your personal computer or the software that you are using for information about using a personal computer The folder name of the Copyboard inside USB memory is CB_image Image files are stored in this folder Image file names are stored as PV xxxxxx jpg a JPEG file xxxxxx stands for the date and number e g PV 08020801 jpg Upon purchase the date and time have been set upon shipment from the factory in Japan Standard Time If this differs from the current time use the included software to set the current date and time Plug the USB memory device into a USB po
12. use heavily soiled erasers wet tissue office clean ers neutral detergent or other cleaners e Do not wipe the Copyboard or sheet with thinner ben zene alcohol etc Doing so could cause discoloration or damage the sheet e Wipe of any marks from markers on the pen tray or the frame cover using a damp thoroughly wrung out cloth e When the erasing surface of an eraser has become soiled exchange the sponge with a spare one and then use Using a soiled eraser will soil the sheet surface and it will be difficult to remove the soiled matter from the sheet Handling the CD ROM e Do not touch the surface which has no printing the sur face on which the data is recorded If this surface is dirty the data will not be read properly Also do not stick paper stickers etc on the CD ROM e Do not leave for long periods of time in places exposed to direct sunlight or near heating appliances and do not drop or bend the CD ROM The disc may get warped making it impossible to read the data USB Memory e The USB memory formats supported by the Copyboard are FAT and FAT 32 There are also types of USB memory that cannot be used by this unit Check the PLUS Vision web site for types of USB memory that have been verified to work with the Copyboard e Asa provision against the unlikely event of a problem with or disappearance of the data saved in the USB memory we recommend that the data be regularly saved to other media e PLUS Visi

Materials Please perform an installation that suits the wall material Please install the Copyboard to posts or studs when the wall surface is of insufficient strength Installation Wall Material Installation Method Plaster board wall Molly anchor included The included Molly anchors are suited for boards 6 to 10 mm thick The copyboard cannot be installed if the gap behind the wall is under 38 mm Use a drill 8 mm diameter to make the pilot holes in the plaster board Remove the anchors screws then insert the anchors into the ase ilot holes so that they are flush with the wall surface SS p sas y PA Bend the projecting part of the 8 included wrench toward the wall so it is easy to hold then put the screw through the small hole in the wrench Insert the projecting part of the wrench into the anchor and holding it firmly tighten the screw until the wrench is fastened The anchor expands Still holding the wrench down remove the screw then remove the wrench Now fasten the wall mount fitting securely using the removed screws Wooden Walls Wood screws Make a suitable hole with an auger and attach the Copyboard with wood screws Concrete Walls Anchors Make a base hole in the wall with a drill Insert the anchor Fasten the Copy board with screws Please use a drill of the hole diameter specified for the anchor oR Steel Walls Phillips head tapping screws Pan head

18. a scanning device Mounting the unit upside down could cause powder from the markers or dust to enter the control panel reducing the quality of scanned images e Do not lean against the unit or apply excess force to the top of the unit Cautions on Usage e Take care that the unit does not get wet and that water does not get inside Do not place objects containing chemicals water or other liquids vases potted plants glasses cosmetics etc on top of the unit The liquid could spill and get inside the unit leading to fire or elec tric shock e Do not move the sheet with paper or other objects attached to it Doing so could cause damage e Do not wipe the unit or sheet with thinner benzene alco hol or other such products Doing so could cause discol oration or damage the sheet e Please be sure to use the dedicated markers and eras ers Use of other types of markers or erasers or rubbing directly with the hand may scratch the sheet or may soil the sheet and the ink may not come off The markers must be stored in a horizontal orientation The ink may be difficult to remove if they are not e When not using for long periods of time for safety be sure to unplug the AC power adapter from the power outlet e Make entries within the effective reading size See page E 9 Portions that are drawn outside of this range might not be printed or copied when saving to USB memory or personal computer e Just as with the copyboards up

20. d up to that point is printed Wait until the paper is ejected from the printer 4 When the Copyboard is not going to be used press the ON Standby button and switch off the power standby mode e Switch off the printer power e If no button is operated for 30 minutes or greater the unit is set to the sleep mode and the LEDs on the control panel turn off If the ON Standby button is pressed the LEDs on the display window turn on E 31 Printing When there is a Problem with Printing When the Copyboard and an optional printer have been connected and you think there might be a breakdown please check the following matters before requesting repair Condition Please Check A press of the Print IB button does not result e Check that the power cable of the printer and the printer cable are in printing securely connected e Check that the printer power indicator is lit e Check that the error indicators of the Copyboard and the printer are not lit e f the error indicator of the Copyboard is flashing please see Page E 28 Please see the printer instruction manual for information about printer errors The paper feed is abnormal e Possible causes include damp paper overly thin or thick paper only one sheet of paper is set and a curved setting of the paper Please see the instruction manual for your printer An altered color is printed not the specified e Please replace the print
21. e on it E2 flashes for 5 seconds This indicates that the USB memory device cannot be recognized The display stops flashing when the USB memory device is removed or when any button is pressed The problem may be one of the following e The USB memory device was not securely inserted e The USB memory device has not been formatted e The USB memory device is not compatible with the copyboard e The USB memory device is damaged For countermeasures see Meaning of Error Messages on page E 25 E3 flashes for 5 seconds This indicates that an error occurred while data was being stored on the USB memory device Store the data over v Do not remove the USB memory device during this process See Meaning of Error Messages on Page E 25 for other error displays Continued on next page E 19 Using USB Memory Depending on the USB memory it may take time for recognition or it may take time for saving When the Feed Stop button is pressed during the reading operation the reading operation will be discontin ued and the partially read image data will be stored in the USB memory To move the sheet surface press the Feed Stop button after the scrolling has stopped The date time of stored files is the time set on the copyboard Use the included dedicated software to set the time FL is displayed when the Save button is pressed if there is not enough free space on the USB memory device FL is also displayed d
22. emory 3 Press the Feed Stop button and display the sheet surface you want to store stops automatically To interrupt scrolling press the Feed Stop button again gt KER Pressing the Feed Stop lt button scrolls the sheet one screen portion to the left and it The one screen portion that is viewable will be saved in USB memory Saving of the portion located around the sheet surface might not be possible Please see Effective reading size on Page E 9 The sheet surface can also be moved with the palm of the hand See Moving the sheet surface manually on page E 20 e When the sheet is moving buckling of the sheet may be observed however this is not a fault Press the Save button to store During operation the segments flash os successively Display window e Once one screen s worth of data is scanned scrolled scrolling stops and storage of the data in the memory begins During operation the segments of the display window flash successively When the following error message is displayed US flashes for 5 seconds This indicates that no USB memory device is loaded Load the USB memory device then press the Save button FL flashes for 5 seconds This indicates that there is not enough empty space on the USB memory device The display stops flashing when the USB memory device is removed or when any button is pressed Replace it with a USB memory device with enough free spac

36. rt of the personal computer When connecting to the personal computer for the first time the installation of a USB driver is required Follow the instructions manual of the USB memory device that you are using e Usually with Windows 2000 XP Vista the standard driver is installed automatically and is identified as Removable disk in My Computer 2 Saving the image files of a USB memory device to a personal computer 1 Open My Computer and from within open the drive of the connected USB memory device The folder named CB_image is the saved data of the Copyboard 2 Store copy or move the CB_image folder in My Documents or another folder All of the data contained in CB_image will be stored Depending on the computer s usage environment these operations may not work properly This could be the case for example e when several USB devices are connected simultane ously to the computer The display on the screen differs for different operating e when the USB device is connected to a USB hub or systems when it is connected using an extension cable E 21 Using USB Memory Deleting USB memory image files with the computer Before deleting important image files be sure to save them on the computer as a data backup 1 Open My Computer and then open the drive icon which shows USB memory The folder named CB_image contains the memory storage data of
