Expectations tis an expectation that al those intending to use the equipment must be involved in the entire process fom file set up CNC programming and CNC set up amp machining The student is expected to participate from beginning to end When the CNC router is actively in operation the user must be present and attentive at all times Users will not leave the with the machines runing even for a moment If one needs to leave the machine must be paused or stopped Upon completion the user is expected to thoroughly ean the CNC and surrounding area Al tools are to be to their proper location NC bed vacuumed andthe floor swept see CNC horse ig uate Mo machine computer or fabrication will be reconfigured or otherwise modified by users beyond that which is part of the normal operation of such machine This includes any hardware andlor softwares used to bil objects orto drive the fabrication process Inthe event of any problems or difficulties with the operation or maintenance of the machines work on sich machine wil cease and the DFL Manager or Technician must be notified immediate Access to any damaged machine wil be suspended until the machine has been fned and brought back on ie as determined by the DFL Manager Users can only operate the equipment in presence of a qualified supervisor DFL statt or other appointed Faculty or student Eye protection is mandatory when operating the CNC

L and its rules and procedure Use of the DFL equipment and facilities is conditional upon agreeing to follow all the rules and procedures outlined in that document Violation of these policies and procedures will resul in the issuing of demerits for violations and potential suspension of some or all DFL privileges 1 Report ANY and ALL injuries immediately to the DFL stat AI DFL staff are First Aid trained to help with any potential injuries During off hours injuries must be reported immediately to the Security Guard AWA security guards are first aid trained 2 Students must fuly co operate with the shop supervisors and must follow the rules without exception 3 is the student s responsitiliy to receive and understand instruction in the proper and safe use of the tools and equipment before he or she attempts to any operation with the equipment 4 Do not enter shop while tired or under the influence Drugs Alcohol and any Medications causing Drowsiness or impaired performance 0 2 E 1 s E E Al students using the power equipment must wear safely glasses goggles or a face shield to protect eros Shoes covering the entire foot must be wor at all times wien in the sop No open heels toes or sides of the foot will be accepted Soft sided shoes or slippers are unacceptable Shoe uppers should provide some protection fom falling objects Students wil be prohibited trom working in the labs

22. ions Tool Checkout Policy The Lab has allocated sone tools to be available for checkout These tools are loaned out for a period of one day and are due the following morning at 10 00am A tool checked out on a Friday is due the Monday at 10 00 am With the DFL tool inventory being shared among a large number of people students who need a tool for a prolonged period at time are encouraged to buy their own Tons must be checked out well in advance of the Lab losing Tools wil not be signed out after 4 30pm Toots left in the shop are not checked in Tools must be retuned to DFL staff and checked of in the sign out register to be considered returned Late tol returns wil be subject to demerits Each infraction wil result n 1 demerit three demerits for the same infraction will result in suspension of all DFL privileges AI tools borrowed must be retume in the condition in which twas checked out A tool lost or damaged becomes the student s responsibility for repair or Failure to pay may result in a suspension from AN DFL access Pomer tools with cutting blades are prohibited from being checked out and used unsupervised These tools include sans circular saws and raters Bringing in your own power tools for use in the schol is prohibited University policy prohibits the use of personal power tools in the school and wil not be responsible for any unauthorized use of such tools Cutting tots lihe jig
