Anti Lock Brake ABS Light e This light monitors the Anti Lock Brake System ABS e f the light is not on during starting stays on or turns on while driving we recommend you drive to the nearest service center and have the vehicle serviced immediately M Electronic Throttle Control ETC Light e his light informs you of a problem with the Electronic Throttle Control ETC system e f a problem is detected the light will come on while the engine is running Cycle the ignition when the vehicle has completely stopped and the shift lever is placed in the PARK position the light should turn off 53 WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES e f the light remains lit with the engine running your vehicle will usually be drivable however see an authorized service center immediately If the light is flashing when the engine is running immediate service is required and you may experience reduced performance an elevated rough idle or engine stall and your vehicle may require towing e Airbag Warning Light e f the light is not on during starting stays on or turns on while driving have the vehicle serviced by an authorized service center immediately SERV w SERV Service 4WD Indicator Light e f the light stays on or comes on during driving it means that the 4WD system is not functioning properly and that service is required We recommend you drive to the nearest service center and have the vehicle serviced immediat
3. 58 Do not attempt to change a tire on the side of the vehicle close to moving traffic Pull far enough off the road to avoid the danger of being hit when operating the jack or changing the wheel Getting under a jacked up vehicle is dangerous The vehicle could slip off the jack and fall on you You could be crushed Never get any part of your body under a vehicle that is on a jack If you need to get under a raised vehicle take it to a service center where it can be raised on a lift The jack is designed to use as a tool for changing tires only The jack should not be used to lift the vehicle for service purposes The vehicle should be jacked on a firm level surface only Avoid ice or slippery areas If itis necessary to retrieve the spare tire from under the vehicle on the side of the vehicle close to moving traffic pull far enough off the road to avoid the danger of being hit Carefully follow these tire changing procedures to help prevent personal injury or damage to your vehicle Always park on a firm level surface as far from the edge of the roadway as possible before raising the vehicle Raising the vehicle higher than necessary can make the vehicle less stable and could cause it to slip off the jack and hurt someone near it Raise the vehicle only enough to remove the tire A loose tire or jack thrown forward in a collision or hard stop could endanger the occupants of the vehicle Always stow the jack parts and the spare tire in

For added capability when traversing steep grades rough terrain or extremely poor traction surfaces select the transfer case 4WD LOW position This position locks the front driveshaft and rear driveshaft together and forces the front and rear wheels to rotate at the same speed while multiplying engine torque 45 OFF ROAD CAPABILITIES e When operating in 4WD LOW the engine speed is approximately three times that of the 4WD LOCK position at a given road speed Take care not to over speed the engine and do not exceed 25 mph 40 km h e Use the transfer case NEUTRAL position for recreational towing only 2WD To 4WD AUTO e Move transfer case lever to the desired position Shifts between 2WD and 4WD AUTO can be done with the vehicle stopped or in motion With the vehicle in motion the transfer case will engage disengage faster if you momentarily release the accelerator pedal after moving the transfer case lever If the vehicle is stopped the key must be in the ON RUN position e Shifts can not be completed if the key is in the ACC position 4WD AUTO To 4WD LOW e With the engine running slow the 46 vehicle speed to 2 to 3 mph 3 to 5 km h and shift the transmission into NEUTRAL e While still rolling move the transfer case lever to the 4WD LOW position e After the indicator light is ON not flashing shift the transmission into gear e f the indicator light in the instrument cluster i

RUN position SEAT BELT e Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and using a seat belt properly e Position the lap belt across your thighs below your abdomen To remove slack in the lap portion pull up a bit on the shoulder belt To loosen the lap belt if it is too tight tilt the latch plate and pull on the lap belt A snug belt reduces the risk of sliding under the belt in a collision Position the shoulder belt on your chest so that it is comfortable and not resting on your neck The retractor will withdraw any slack in the belt A shoulder belt placed behind you will not protect you from injury during a collision You are more likely to hit your head in a collision if you do not wear your shoulder belt The lap and shoulder belt are meant to be used together A belt that is too loose will not protect you properly In a sudden stop you could move too far forward increasing the possibility of injury Wear your seat belt snugly e A frayed or torn belt could rip apart in a collision and leave you with no protection Inspect the belt system periodically checking for cuts frays or loose parts Damaged parts must be replaced immediately Do not disassemble or modify the System Seat belt assemblies must be replaced after a collision if they have been damaged bent retractor torn webbing etc The seat belts for both front seating positions are equipped with pretensioning devices that are designed to remove slack from the sea
11. a snap in cover located on the liftgate trim panel Window Switch e To avoid injury stand back when opening Glass may automatically rise e Driving with the liftgate or flipper glass open can allow poisonous exhaust gases into your vehicle You and your passengers could be injured by these fumes Keep the flipper glass closed when you are operating the vehicle G2 OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE POWER SUNROOF e The power sunroof switch is located on the overhead console Opening Sunroof Express e Press the switch rearward and release The sunroof will fully open and stop automatically Closing Sunroof Express e Press the switch forward and release The sunroof will close automatically from any position Manual Open Close e Press and hold the switch rearward to open or forward to close the sunroof Any release of the switch will stop the movement and the sunroof will remain in a partially open or closed position until the switch is pressed again Venting Sunroof e Press and release the VENT button and the sunroof will open to the vent position This is called Express Vent and will occur regardless of sunroof position During Express Vent operation any movement of the switch will stop the sunroof Pinch Protection Feature e This feature will detect an obstruction in the opening of the sunroof during Express Close operation If an obstruction in the path of the sunroof is detected the sunroof will automatically
