3. 8040 8050 8060 Posey Limited Warranty 6 666 6 6 00 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 9 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 Posey Bed 8040 8050 8060 What Does This Warranty Cover Posey warrants to the original purchaser that the Posey Bed 8040 8050 and 8060 are free of defects in materials and workmanship If the product is found to be defective in workmanship or materials we will repair or replace it at our option at no charge other than certain transportation and cleaning charges How Long Does the Warranty Last This warranty is two 2 years from the date of purchase for the canopy frame and one 1 year from the date of purchase for the canopy Useful life of the Posey Bed canopy is estimated at three 3 years but may be extended by proper care maintenance laundering avoiding sharp objects aggressive and destructive patients and avoiding direct exposure to sunlight As of March 1 2014 Posey will no longer repair any canopy that is more than 5 years old as determined by the year and month of manufacture What is Not Covered by this Warranty Damage to the metal frame nylon canopy or other components caused by 1 use in unsuitable environmental conditions or failure to assemble or maintain the product in accord with user and service instructions 2 abuse including but not limited to patient damage misuse alteration exposure to extreme heat or by natural or external forces such as flood or fire

8. the wrong bed may result in serious injury or death to the patient There are a number of hospital beds in use today from many manufacturers that are fully compatible with the Posey Bed canopy Hospital beds come with either removable headboards and footboards or non removable headboards and footboards Compatible hospital beds must meet the following requirements e Length of the bed frame must be lt 96 and does not retract lt 76 e Width of bed frame must be x 36 Height of the bed platform deck of the bed from the floor must be able to adjust between 16 and 25 inches for the 8050 and 8060 models and between 13 and 22 ra inches for the 8040 model 16 25 Depending on the features of the bed operational limits must be also be observed when a Posey Bed canopy is in use as described in the user manual For example the head of bed angle can only be raised lt 70 It is important to Keep the bed platform in the lowest position to keep the canopy tight and avoid material in the patient area when the patient is alone E BEDS WITH REMOVABLE HEADBOARDS AND FOOTBOARDS 13 22 ALWAYS use the IV post mount brackets Part Q on a hospital bed with removable Fig 28A Deck of Bed Dimensions 8040 headboard and footboard Mounting the IV post mount bracket to the IV post socket will firmly attach the A frame to the bed BEDS WITH NON REMOVABLE HEADBOARDS AND FOOTBOARDS ALWAYS use the Posey Bed universal straps Cat

15. at 8018 to firmly attach the Posey Bed frame to hospital beds with non removable headboards and footboards NEVER use the universal straps on beds with removable headboards and footboards Doing so will cause the A frame to detach from the hospital bed when the bed is raised ALWAYS properly secure the Posey Bed universal straps ALWAYS use Posey Bed headboard footboard pads Cat 8002 to cover the headboards and footboards to help prevent injury from direct contact with the solid structure 1 Position the A frame around the hospital bed and adjust the length of the top piece and base piece of the frame to fit around the frame of the bed 2 Wrap the large horizontal strap A horizontally around the headboard or footboard 3 onap the quick release buckle closed Fig 35 4 Adjust the strap so that it fits snugly around the head or footboard Fig 36 NOTE he large buckle from strap A should be facing in toward the bed 5 Adjust the position of strap A so the three slider bar support straps are between the two vertical frame bars Fig 3 6 Raise the slider bar Part D from the frame even with the three slider bar support straps B Fig 38 7 Using the tab provided separate the hook and loop from each strap and place the slider bar in the lt center of each strap Fig 39 Tighten each strap Fig 39 8 Wrap each of the small Vertical Straps C vertically around the head or footboards 9 Snap the quick release buck
