Lock screen and security 2 Tap Unknown sources gt OK to enable this option Warning Enabling installation of third party applications can cause your device and personal data to be more vulnerable to attacks by unknown sources Encrypt Your Data Require a numeric PIN or password to decrypt your device each time you power it on or encrypt the data on a memory card not included each time it is connected 1 From a Home screen tap Apps gt Settings 2 Tap Lock screen and security gt Other security settings for the following options Encrypt device Require a password to decrypt your device each time you turn it on Encrypt external SD card Tap to enable the encryption of SD card data requiring a password to be entered each time the microSD card is connected Note Make sure your battery is charged more than 80 percent Encryption takes an hour or more 116 Lock Screen and Security Settings Set Up SIM Card Lock To prevent another person from using your SIM card to make unauthorized calls or from accessing information stored on your SIM card you can protect the information by using a PIN code When enabled your device asks for a PIN number each time you use the tablet Using this option you can also change your SIM PIN number 1 From a Home screen tap Apps gt Settings 2 Tap Lock screen and security gt Set up SIM card lock 3 Touch Lock SIM card enter your SIM PIN code then
