19. 14 16 and 18 If you had entered 2 they would be sizes 10 8 and 6 The grading arrows tell PatternMaker what the difference between one size and the next is Note Recall that you have shortened the sloper from its original size 12 and that your grading rule was designed for simplicity not realism Therefore your sizes 13 14 and 15 don t correspond to real clothing sizes Okay now you can finish the grading command Select OK button PatternMaker creates three new slopers a green one a blue one and a red one Look carefully at the arrows to see how PatternMaker calculated where each point belonged e The point with the tack didn t change from one size to the next e At each point with an arrow the corresponding point of the green object is at the end head of the arrow e At each point without an arrow PatternMaker uses the nearest two arrows to determine where the point should go The change from the green sloper to the blue sloper is the same as the change from the white one to the green one and so on You have finished your introduction to PatternMaker s grading system As you can see once you have created the arrows that define your grading rule it S very easy and quick to make new sizes A hint on creating arrows there are two good ways to put together a grading rule One is to use the EDIT ARROW command to enter predetermined dx and dy values as you did in this tutorial The other is to draw two copies of a
