YarcWorks RETRACTABLE HOSE REEL 10 METRE HOSE LENGTH MODEL NO RHR 100 p INTRODUCTION MODEL NO RHR 100 This reel is made of high quality materials and parts driven and released by a spring which can rewind the hose automatically A self layering mechanism rewinds the hose clean to the reel The reel can be fixed to a wall or ceiling through the mounting bracket enclosed relieving work space restriction An aluminium pivot tube on the reel connects the reel and mounting bracket Fig 1 allowing the reel to swivel 180 The length of hose Fig 1 i ranges from 0 10m Inlet Hose not shown Trigger Spray Gun 1 Mounting Bracket 2 Handle 3 Hose Stop 4 Outlet Hose 5 6 INSTALLATION b This reel is suitable for installing near a water source Fora large area place it in the centre of the yard or work place enabling you to freely cover the area You can also extend the hose to the most convenient point in this area Connect the inlet hose to a water supply e The mounting bracket can be installed on a brick wall Fig 2 There are many alternative positions in which the unit can be placed The key point is subject to what is convenient for the user e The most appropriate position is to mount it on a wall or post horizontally approximately 1m above the ground Otherwise the reel can be used vertically when hung on a suitable overhead beam or rafter e When securing the hose reel overhead i

4. t is advisable to drill a hole in the pivot tube and place a lock or bolt in the hole This will prevent the pivot tube from slipping out of the mounting bracket and the hose reel falling from the mounted position e The mounting bracket must be secured using four screws or bolts not included The four holes in two directions to centre are 114mm and 39mm Fig 3 SER y POINTS TO NOTE The reel has a high quality kink resistant hose supplied 1 After use please turn off the water In some areas of high temperatures and high water pressure the sunlight will heat the water and damage the hose which will cause the hose to be difficult to rewind Turn off the water before retracting the hose Do not leave the reel outside during very low temperatures as the hose may be less flexible and difficult to retract 2 Do not let the hose touch any chemical or substance such as acetone white spirits or acid etc p HOW TO CORRECTLY LATCH AND RETRACT HOSE The hose will extend when pulled The automatic lock can be engaged at anytime by allowing the hose to retract back into the reel several centimetres then extending out again several centimetres and then allowing the hose to retract again The lock will engage To retract simply pull the hose out approximately 30cm and then allow the hose to retract When retracting the hose it is recommended a minimum of 25 of the hose has been extended and the water has been turned off at the
5. tap To ensure the hose retracts fully place the hose into a large loop on the ground free from anything that will impede the retraction IMPORTANT IT IS IMPORTANT FOR SAFETY REASONS AND OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE THAT THE OPERATOR HOLDS THE NOZZLE END OF THE HOSE DURING RETRACTION UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE HOSE BE RELEASED WHILE RETRACTING THE HOSE There is a yellow strip on the hose towards the 10m mark pulling the hose past this point can hinder the retracting mechanism from working Should the hose be pulled past this point and fails to retract this is easily solved by removing the reel from the mounting bracket placing the reel on the ground on its side and pulling the hose out with a quick jerking motion The hose should then proceed to retract Raise the reel to an upright position and allow the reel to retract the hose then assemble reel back onto mounting bracket MAINTENANCE b 1 Do not immerse the reel in water to clean If hose is very dirty clean it before retraction 2 Mount the reel in a sheltered position to prolong its life The metal parts will deteriorate and rust in exposed positions The polypropylene parts will also be affected when exposed outside particularly under sunlight reducing the life of the reel housing and retracting wheel In areas where temperatures reach freezing point the hose will also be damaged if it is full of water 3 When not in use it is advisable to store your reel
