17. gonal edges DCDi constantly monitors edge transitions and fills in any of the gaps that need smoothing have the FPD2185W connected to my notebook s VGA port and I see no image on the screen You have two options m f your notebook supports dual displays you can use both your notebook s display and this monitor in extended desktop multi monitor mode See Windows Help to learn how to enable multiple monitors m You can also use this monitor as your primary monitor and not use the notebook s screen Notebook computers typically have an FN key combination that lets you toggle between your notebook s display and an externally attached display On Gateway notebooks this key combination is FN F4 The F4 key is located along the top row of keys See your notebook user guide for more information When I connect this monitor to my notebook while the notebook isin Hibernate mode or Standby mode the EzTune software does not work When the monitor is connected when the notebook is in Hibernate or Standby mode EzTune cannot recognize the monitor To solve this problem 1 Close EzTune by right clicking the EzTune icon in the system tray then clicking Exit Restart the EzTune software by double clicking the EzTune icon on your desktop 2 If Step 1 does not solve the problem save all open documents and restart your notebook When I am using clone mode why can t I control this monitor with EzTune Clone mode is used when you are display

19. ing the same image on your notebook s screen and on an external monitor EzTune does not support clone mode 23 Using Your Gateway Flat Panel Monitor How To 24 How do I make the image rotate when the screen is rotated Make sure that EzTune is installed on your computer An EzTune software CD shipped with the monitor When using a VGA or DVI input connection with EzTune installed the image automatically rotates when the screen is rotated Other inputs and the on screen display OSD do not rotate into portrait mode Setup When I rotate my screen 90 degrees why does the image not automatically rotate For auto rotation to work EzTune software must be installed Place the EzTune CD in your computer s CD or DVD drive and then follow the on screen instructions After your computer restarts auto rotation will work Why does the image looks stretched or fuzzy when I connect the monitor to my computer You must adjust the operating system s display settings to match the monitor s optimal native 1680 x 1050 setting For information on adjusting settings in Windows XP see Adjusting the screen resolution on page 16 The easiest way to adjust your screen resolution is to use the included EzTune software After installing EzTune click the EzTune icon in the taskbar click the Adjust tab click Resolution then click Preferred Your screen adjusts to 1680 x 1050 and EzTune displays a message that you are at a preferred resoluti
20. ion screw so raising and lowering forces are equal After the forces are equalized turn the tension screw clockwise 2 to 4 turns to slightly decrease the lifting tension 4 For optimum viewing adjust the height so the top of monitor is about 1 inch below eye level C The recommended mounting heights the range of adjustability required to provide comfortable use by a range of users and the forces required for making adjustments to the display are based upon the following guildelines These guidelines are based on available scientific literature and published standards Screen height The recommended screen height for displays except in special circumstances such as for bifocal use is that the top of the display should be set at or slightly below about 1 inch or 25 mm the user s eye level while the user is sitting in a comfortable working posture This guideline places the center of the screen at an ideal 15 to 20 viewing angle for most desktop displays If the display has multiple users the screen height should be easily adjustable to accommodate each user s height and preference Screen tilt The screen should be tilted so the user s line of sight is perpendicular to the screen This angle creates the most consistent viewing distance when scanning from the top of the screen to the bottom You may need to adjust lighting to avoid screen glare when the screen is tilted upward Screen distance from user The display screen
