4. el BBs If not fill the built in magazine with BBs and repeat the operation steps 7b Was the safety OFF SAFE RED SHOWING when the trigger was pulled If not repeat the operation steps 7c Was a CO2 cylinder installed If not put ON SAFE NO RED SHOWING and insert a new CO2 cylinder Repeat the operation steps after the new cylinder is installed 7d Refer to the section on CO2 characteristics 7e If the pistol still does not fire refer to warning below AAWARNING IF THE PISTOL STILL FAILS TO SHOOT A BB AFTER CHECK ING THE FIVE ITEMS ABOVE THERE IS A MALFUNCTION IN THE PISTOL THIS COULD REPRESENT A DANGEROUS CONDITION THERE COULD BE BBS IN THE PISTOL EVEN THOUGH A BB DID NOT SHOOT OUT ALWAYS TREAT THE GUN AS IF IT WERE LOADED AT NO TIME SHOULD YOU LOOK DOWN THE BARREL OF THE GUN PUT ON SAFE NO RED SHOWING REMOVE THE CO2 CYLINDER SEE REMOVING CO2 CYLINDER AND SEND THE PISTOL DI RECTLY TO UMAREX USA REFER TO SECTION ON WARRANTY AND REPAIR REMOVING BBs Put ON SAFE NO RED SHOWING See Fig 2a Push the BB follower to the front of the gun and lock it in the notch See Fig 4 Invert the gun and let the BBs fall out of the built in magazine through the loading port Look inside the magazine slot on top of the gun If a BB is visible use a ballpoint pen screw driver etc to gently push the BB to the loading port and out of the magazine Z CAUTION Do not assume that the gun i

6. l void the warranty Too High Line up the front sight in the middle of the rear sight The CO2 pistol is correctly aimed when the front sight blade is positioned exactly in the notch of the rear sight The top of the front sight blade should be even with the top of the notch in the rear sight The bullseye should appear to rest on the top of the front sight See Fig 5 and after each use Discontinue use if the backstop surface shows Correct signs of failure Always place the backstop in a location that will be gt safe should the backstop fail Discontinue the use of a backstop Air if the projectile rebounds or ricochets NEVER AIM AT PEOPLE a PETS OR WATER Fig 5 4 STEP 5 PUT OFF SAFE When you are certain that the target back stop and surrounding area is safe push the safety button to the OFF SAFE position RED SHOWING See Fig 2b STEP 6 FIRE Make sure the gun is pointed at a safe target Pull the trigger Once the last BB has been shot from the gun it is still possible for the trigger to be pulled but only CO2 will be discharged STEP 7 PUT ON SAFE After firing return the safety to the ON SAFE position NO RED SHOWING See Fig 2a AAWARNING IF ABB DOES NOT FIRE AFTER COMPLETING THE OPERA TION STEPS DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE GUN IS UNLOADED KEEP THE GUN POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHECKS IF A BB DOES NOT FIRE 7a Did the built in magazine contain 177 caliber ste
7. n top of the gun by turn ing it counterclockwise See Fig 6a Next slide the rail onto the pistol from the muzzle end See Fig 6b Lastly use the long screw that comes with the rail to secure the accessory rail to the gun See Fig 6c STORAGE NEVER STORE ALOADED GUN Put ON SAFE NO RED SHOWING Remove any BBs from the pistol s built in magazine Remove CO2 cylinder Keep pistol away from children and untrained shooters Store BBs and CO2 cartridges separately from the pistol to keep them from untrained shooters Protect your pistol from moisture and dirt clean gun and wrap it in a smooth dry cloth MODIFICATION Z CAUTION The components of this gun were engineered and manufactured to deliver optimum performance Any modification or tampering with a gun may cause a malfunction void your warranty and may make it unsafe to use Any change in performance such as a lowered trigger pull force and shortened trigger travel indi cates possible modification tampering and or wear Such gun should be inspected replaced or properly repaired by only qualified Umarex USA personnel Any gun that has been dropped should be checked by qualified personnel to ensure that its func tion has not been affected AAWARNING A GUN THAT IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY MAY BE DANGEROUS IT SHOULD BE KEPT SAFELY FROM USE BY ANYONE UNTIL REPAIRED OR DESTROYED DO NOT TRY TO TAKE THE GUN APART IT IS DIFFICULT TO REASSEMBLE AND IMPROPER DISASSEMBLY
8. rted position with the grip pointed up and the muzzle pointing away from you as shown See Fig 3c turn the gas cylinder puncture screw clockwise to puncture the CO2 cylinder See Fig 3c Con AAWARNING ONCE THE BUILT IN Z CAUTION Your backstop should be inspected for wear before tinue turning the screw rapidly until finger tight NOTE A slight seepage of CO2 gas may occur until puncture screw is tight STEP 3 LOAD BBs Make sure the gun is pointed in a safe direction and that it is ON SAFE NO RED SHOWING Move the built in magazine BB follower to the front of the gun and lock it at the side See Fig 4 Insert a maximum of 15 fifteen 177 caliber steel BBs individu ally into the loading port See Fig 4 After the magazine has been loaded with a maximum of 15 BBs slowly release the BB follower and allow it to rest against the BBs MAGAZINE IS LOADED WITH A BB IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE LOADED USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN HANDLING THE GUN KEEP THE GUN POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION NEVER POINT THE GUN AT ANYONE ALWAYS TREAT THE GUN AS IF IT WERE LOADED AND READY TO FIRE Z NCAUTION Use only 177 caliber steel BBs Do not attempt to reuse fired BBs or BBs which are deformed Do not use lead pellets buck shot darts ball bearings or other foreign objects because they can cause injury to you or someone else or may damage and or jam the gun Use of anything other than 177 caliber steel BBs wil
9. s empty of BBs Verify that all BBs are removed by examining the magazine slot Always treat the gun as if it were loaded and ready to fire REMOVING A CO2 CYLINDER Put ON SAFE NO RED SHOWING See Fig 2a With the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and the grip cover still in place slowly turn the puncture screw counterclockwise allowing any remaining gas to be dis charged and continue turning screw until it stops Slide back grip cover Remove and properly dispose of CO2 cylinder Z CAUTION Never attempt to reuse a CO2 cylinder for any purpose USE AND HANDLING OF CO2 CYLINDERS It is possible that certain conditions may affect a CO2 cylinder which can impact its proper performance These conditions include usage maintenance and stor age at temperatures that are higher or lower than normal outdoors temperatures 59 F 15 C to 69 8 F 21 C Another condition may be when the gun is fired rapidly 1 High temperatures can increase pressure in the CO2 cylinder and also within the gun leading to higher than standard operating pressure This excess pressure could cause the gun to malfunction or be permanently damaged Maximum storage or operation temperature should never exceed 122 F 50 C This temperature can be reached if you leave the gun under direct sunlight on a bright day Thus to ensure proper gun operation do not expose it to high temperatures or direct sunlight for long periods of time Otherwise the CO2 c
10. ylinder could overheat and explode which could damage the airgun and cause injuries or death to people nearby 2 Fast consecutive shooting may produce a decrease of temperature in the gun as well as the CO2 cylinder This could result in lower projectile velocities and may even lower gas pressure enough so that the pistol will not fire This condition can be especially apparent when shooting in cold weather and can be avoided by allowing more time between shots This permits the gas to increase in temperature and pres sure and produce normal velocities 3 During rapid fire the muzzle velocity of each shot will diminish This can affect shooting accuracy and you will get fewer shots per CO2 cylinder 4 Care should be exercised to ensure that the gun is not shot with a CO2 cylinder that is low in pressure Here are some indicators of insufficient pressure A The sound of the shot is not as loud as when the cylinder is full B The projectile hits the target but in a lower position than it would with a full CO2 cylinder that is the shooting speed has dropped AAWARNING A CO2 CYLINDER CONTAINS GAS UNDER PRESSURE WHETHER OR NOT IT HAS BEEN INSERTED INTO A GUN IF EXPOSED TO HIGH TEMPERATURES SUCH AS INSIDE A CLOSED CAR AND OR IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT IT COULD EXPLODE STORE ALL CYLINDERS IN A COOL PLACE HOW TO MOUNT THE TOP ACCESSORY RAIL To mount the accessory rail that came with your Baby Desert Eagle first remove the short screw o
