5. appliance is dropped damaged or working incorrectly Call the helpline on 015394 88100 to arrange a repair by an authorised repairer or a replacement Never try to repair the blender yourself as this may cause electric shock BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Carefully unpack the blender and remove any packaging Please see CARE AND CLEANING for instructions on cleaning the blender before preparing food USING YOUR BLENDER This compact blender has been designed for soups sauces batter milkshakes smoothies and more It will puree fruit and cooked vegetables mix pat s and dips chop breadcrumbs nuts vegetables and meat and crush ice There are two speed settings and a pulse feature which gives an instant burst of extra power and will also crush ice 1 Place your ingredients inside the blender jug taking care not to fill above 800ml Some liquid should always be added to dry solid ingredients and also when crushing ice Let soups sauces and cooked foods cool to room temperature before blending 2 Press the lid onto the jug The small opening in the lid is useful for drip feeding small quantities of liquid or oil as you blend 3 Make sure the power unit is switched off and unplugged Carefully place the jug onto the power unit Plug into the mains socket 4 Placing your hand on top of the jug lid over the opening switch on the blender by turning the using the speed selector knob Select 1 for low speed and 2 for high speed Se
6. lect P for pulse 5 When the food is processed switch off the blender 6 Wait until the blades have stopped rotating then unplug before lifting off the jug emptying and cleaning Lift the jug straight up do not twist PLEASE NOTE food should not be stored in the jug after blending Compact Blender 16048 IB 01_12 Compact blender 13 1 12 11 41 Page 5 HELPFUL HINTS The blender has anti slip feet to help keep it steady on your worktop For added safety always keep your hand on top of the blender lid whenever it is running When working with dry solid ingredients cut them into small pieces and always add some liquid Let soups sauces and cooked foods cool to room temperature before blending For crushed ice add just a few cubes at a time with a small amount of water Solid or thick ingredients may need scraping down from the jug sides with a spatula Remember to switch off and unplug the blender first If the mixture is difficult to process add a little liquid or select the pulse feature e To avoid overheating do not run the blender for more than 1 minute at a time Let the motor rest for a few minutes before continuing CARE AND CLEANING Wash before first use in hot soapy water and dry Always switch off and unplug the blender before cleaning Remove the lid then lift the jug off the power unit and empty the contents Carefully remove the blade unit from the base of the jug by turning i
