1. 02 07 WRX Master Cylinder Support Bracket 051809 Thank you for purchasing the PERRIN Master Cylinder Support Bracket Persons experienced in the installation and proper operation of brake systems should only perform installation of these parts Please read through all the instructions before performing the installation Year of car and model will effect what OEM parts need to be removed SPECIAL NOTES The use of a factory service manual is highly recommended These can be purchased or downloaded online at http techinfo subaru com http subaru spx com is a place to buy OEM tools We highly recommend the use of anti seize on treads of all bolts when reassembling e The master cylinder support only fits left hand drive vehicles Parts Included with the PERRIN Master Cylinder Brace 1 PERRIN master cylinder support 4 M6 SS washers 1 M6 Fender washer e 1 M6 SS nut 3 M6x25 SS Button head socket cap screw 1 M12x30 SS set screw e 1 M12 SS jam nut Installation of PERRIN Master Cylinder Brace 1 02 05 WRX s remove window washer bottle from drivers side shock tower Disconnect pump connector or connectors on wagon models Disconnect hose or hoses on wagon models making sure not to dump all remaining fluid onto car 06 cars do not have washer bottles located on shock tower and can skip this step 2 02 04 WRX s remove fuel filter from bracket on passenger side shock tower Carefully move fuel filter2. 11 Tighten socket set screw until it touches master cylinder Tighten set screw half to one full turn Lock down setscrew by tightening lock nut to master cylinder brace 12 02 04 WR s install fuel filter back onto shock tower The OEM bracket will not be reused and fuel filter will not fit securely to chassis An aftermarket inline fuel filter can be purchased and mounted in a new location 13 05 WRX s and STI models will not reinstall fuel line bracket to shock tower Make sure fuel lines are secured out of way of sharp corners on master cylinder brace 14 02 05 WRX s install washer bottle back onto shock tower making sure to hookup water pump electrical connection and washer hose connection For questions amp comments please contact TECH PERRINPERFORMANCE COM 503 693 1702 AIM contact ALTASALESPERRIN
3. out of the way and remove bracket from shock tower The 2 threaded holes will be used to mount the PERRIN master cylinder support bracket 05 WRX s and all STI models do not have fuel filter mounted on shock tower and can skip this step 3 05 WRX s and all STI models need to remove fuel line holder bracket from shock tower This will not be reused 4 Locate small hose and find clip that passes through shock tower into wheel well This hose and clip is roughly 2 3 back from 2 threaded holes Remove hose and connector from hole 5 06 WRX s have a secondary air injection pump that needs to be moved out of way to access bolt for fuel holder Remove 2 bolts on shock tower one bolt toward battery hose on top of pump and electrical connection to remove from car 6 Install supplied set screw into brace making sure to put socket head portion away from master cylinder Install supplied nut loosely to socket head bolt This will be lock down after the install Install master cylinder brace loosely onto 2 threaded holes on shock tower using supplied bolts and washers Using supplied bolt place bolt with M6 washer through master cylinder brace into wheel well 9 Install supplied fender washer and nut onto bolt protruding through wheel well NOTE Jacking car up onto jackstands maybe necessary to gain access to this bolt 10 Snug all 3 nut bolts then tighten 2 bolts in engine bay to 15ft lbs Tighten bolt going into wheel well to 15ft Ibs
