HONDA Service Bulletin 05 045 aaa HI Applies To 2006 Ridgeline From VIN 2HJYK16 6H500001 thru 2HJYK16 6H521114 November 17 2005 Water Leak at Right Front Floor Supersedes 05 045 dated September 29 2005 to update the information indicated by the black bars SYMPTOM REPAIR PROCEDURE The right front carpet area is wet after a long rainstorm 1 Remove these components e Passengers kick panel PROBABLE CAUSE Refer to page 20 59 of the 2006 Ridgeline The A pillar drain is restricted by a glued in noise Service Manual or block Online enter keyword KICK and select Interior Trim Removal Installation Door CORRECTIVE ACTION Areas from the list Drill a drain hole in the A pillar noise block so the water e Glove box can drain out of the bottom of the A pillar Refer to page 20 84 of the service manual or Online enter keyword GLOVE and select REQUIRED MATERIALS Glove Box Removal Installation from the list 3M Brushable Seam Sealer or equivalent 2 Remove the three VTM 4 controller attachment 3M P N 08656 bolts 3 Using a pry tool detach the wire harness clips at WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION the locations shown then move the VIM 4 In warranty The normal warranty applies controller out of the way Operation Number 848004 VTM 4 CONTROLLER Flat Rate Time 0 5 hours Failed Part P N 61500 SJC A00ZZ H C 7929896 Defect Code 03801 Symptom Code 05904 Template ID 05 045A Skill Level Repair Technician O2. ock 0 Fa N 7 N To prevent rusting primer any surface area cut with the drill bit Clean the area around the clip hole and the hole under the VTM 4 controller bracket with isopropyl alcohol Coat the clip hole and the open hole under the VTM 4 controller bracket with seam sealer and let it to dry for about 15 minutes Use 3M Brushable Seam Sealer or equivalent NOTE Do not fill the drilled hole with seam sealer It will block the flow of water 05 045 9 To verify the repair pour about 3 to 4 oz 100 ml of water inside the A pillar using a funnel and hose The water should drain out through the bottom of the A pillar below the passenger compartment floor GLOVE BOX FUNNEL OPENING AND HOSE SEAM SEALER Cover the NOISE top clip hole BLOCK Drains under the vehicle 10 Reinstall the VTM 4 controller the glove box and the passengers kick panel 05 045 3 of 3
