The wheel landing gear struct cover and fairing to be removed per applicable instructions 1 With the air valve cap 11 removed discharge air completely from the core 12 2 Remove the air valve body 13 from the plug 16 3 With the snap ring 15 removed remove the stopper 19 plug and 0 ring 17 4 Pull out the orifice tube 18 5 Drain oil 6 Remove the torque knee 28 7 With the bolt 32 removed disconnect the piston 25 from the socket 26 8 Pull out the piston from the upper end of the cylinder 9 With the snap ring 24 of the cylinder skirt section removed remove the adapter 23 and scraper ring 22 10 Remove the O ring 20 and oil pad 33 from inside the cylinder 9 3 11 ASSEMBLING OF MAIN GEAR SHOCK STRUT 1 After cleaning all parts properly check them for wear and damage Replace defective parts Replace 0 rings with new ones 2 Install O ring and oil pad inside the cylinder 3 Install the scraper ring and adapter on the cylinder skirt with the snap ring 4 Insert the piston from the upper side of the cylinder 5 Install the piston and socket with bolts Tighten bolts to 30 to 40 in lbs 6 Install the torque knee 7 Install the orifice tube 8 Lubricate the strut in accordance with para 3 2 2 9 Install the O ring stopper and plug with the snap ring 10 Install the 0 ring and valve body on the plug 11 Charge
