IC 7 Use the OEM wire harness retainers PIC 6 and the included nylon cable ties to secure them out of harms way NOTE Make sure that the wire harnesses from the Swoops DO NOT get pinched i the hinges NOTICE K ryakyn recommends the use of dielectric grease on electrical connections PAGE cont a ay RIGHT THOROUGHLY PIC 3 ae CLEAN THIS AREA ON BOTH SIDES wa LINE UP SWOOP ALONG LIGHT Pg Ei 4 4 as LA NOTCH LIP HERE ON BOTH SIDES A OF TRUNK 4 n 2 TRUNK ACCENT SWOOPS INSTALLATION STEP 10 Locate the Run Turn Y harness Connect the three pin connector marked LEFT with the ORANGE RED and BLACK wires to the Swoop attached to the left sitting on bike side of the trunk Connect the three pin connector marked RIGHT mee with the BLUE RED and BLACK wires to the Swoop on the right EPIC 6 side of the trunk STEP 11 On 12 models Route the six pin connector on the end of the Run Turn harness under the seat and along the main harness along the frame on the RIGHT side of the motorcycle PIC 8 to the rear of the motorcycle It may be helpful to use a guide wire Use the included cable ties to secure the harness out of harms way On 01 10 models Take a piece of wire or a straight coat hanger to pull the wire through and run it along the inside of the left frame rail PIC 9 until you can reach it f2. 5. rom the back of the bike The wire should come out to the top left of the inside back panel Tape the six pin connector end of the Run Turn harness to the wire Secure the wire tight enough that it will not come undone in the routing process Pull the wire or coat hanger back toward the rear with the wires still secured to it Once the wires are pulled far enough to reach they can be removed from the wire coat hanger Use the included cable ties to secure the harness out of harms way STEP 12 If you have an open six pin connector on the Plug and Play Harness or Rear Adapter harness connect the six pin connector from the Y harness to it If you do not have an open connector disconnect one of the six pin sets and connect the included Double Y connector in line Connect the existing accessory and the Accent Lights to the new Double Y connector Use the included cable ties to secure the harness out of harms way Secure all wiring away from any moving parts pinch points or extreme heat K ryakyn WILL NOT issue a warranty on any electrical component that fails due to pinched crimped broken abraded melted or frayed wires NOTICE STEP 13 Turn the motorcycle on and verify that all lights work correctly ENSURE PROPER LIGHT OPERATION BEFORE RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE VISIBILITY IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR MOTORCYCLISTS A LIGHT MALFUNCTION COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY STEP 14 Replace the seat and rear fend
6. s to ensure proper ad f M mE hesion Kuryakyn WILL NOT issue a warranty on any parts lost due to improper installation STEP 5 Starting with the right side test fit the Trunk Accent Swoop Make any reference marks with a non permanent marker or masking tape The rear edge of the Swoop will line up with the front edge of the right trunk light PIC 4 NOTICE The adhesive will not bond correctly if applied at temperatures less than 50 F Do not attempt this installation in temperatures less than 50 F STEP 6 Rub the backing of the adhesive tape with your fingernail Peel the backing off the Swoop and attach it to right side of the trunk using any reference marks made in Step 5 Press the Swoop firmly in place for one minute Full bonding will occur in 24 hours NOTE If the motorcycle is to be operated before the 24 hour cure time has expired use a good quality masking or painter s tape over the Swoop to assist in holding it in place until the cure time is over STEP 7 Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the left side STEP 8 Open the trunk Route the wire harness from each Swoop over the black lip shown in PIC 5 on each side NOTE Kiiryakyn recommends using a rattail file to notch the black lip PIC 5 to ensure the wire harness does not get pinched when the trunk lid is closed STEP 9 Route the wire harnesses from each Swoop along the OEM harness on each side of the trunk PIC 6 to the center of the motorcycle under the seat P
