1. 5 1 If any part of the lifejacket has been in contact with salt water or other contaminants such as oil paint thinner it shall be sponged off immediately with a mild soap solution Rinsed with clean fresh water and hung to dry Do not immerse in water as this will activate the firing mechanism Do not use harsh cleaning agents chemicals dry cleaning fluids Do not place on direct heat to dry 5 2 Co2 gas cylinders after use contact with salt water can be cleaned by wiping with a cloth soaked in clean fresh water and then dried immediately afterwards to prevent corrosion with a clean dry absorbent cloth 6 Re packing the lifejacket 6 1 Follow lifejacket packing procedure Once both the bladder and cover have been finally checked the bladder is packed into the cover using the method explained below and visually depicted in the packing procedure illustrations STEP 1 Shows a general bladder stole The cover is laid front facing upwards on a flat surface with fastenings open The bladder front facing upwards is inserted into the cover through the harness loop at the top of the cover if present and tied into position using the harness bladder attachment cord or buckles STEP 2 The bladder top is folded in a concertina method allowing the top of the bladder STEP 3 STEP 4 STEP 5 STEP 6 STEP 7 STEP 8 to unfold easily when deployed and the harness loop is folded once over the concertina bladder top and the velc2. Stitched with cap for cord Patch weld on iside to seal stitches as mudi TE gt 2 gt On board service manual 2 4 5 Automatic emergency light Automatic emergency light YAN e Check light function by switching on manually amp or immersing in water and ensure light is securely fastened to inflatable chambers Any defects replace with new light supplied by Mariteam 13 4 6 Whistle e Check whistle is securely fastened to inflatable chambers and is functional Whistle Any defects replace with new whistle supplied by Mariteam 6 4 7 Automatic firing mechanism e Check date of mechanism has not expired e Check that the mechanism window is not showing red e Check that the manual pull handle has not been removed or partially pulled e Check there is no damage to the mechanism body and back assembly Automatic firing mechanism If any one of the above are found to not conform Remove and refit mechanism by following hammar instructions as attached reference diagram sx 4 8 Co2 gas cylinders To check the cylinder the hammar mechanism must first be removed as per the instruction attached and then unscrewed from the Hammar back assembly Co2 gas cylinder 1 Check the cylinder is not pierced or damaged in any way 2 Check the cylinder is not corroded 3 The cylinder is less than 10 years old If any of these defects are found the cylinder must be replaced immediately and the old on

MARITEAM a gt 2 kam 2 On board service manual 1 0 Maintenance schedule Only a responsible officer may perform the checks mentioned herein All checks shall be recorded in an appropriate log book The records shall include the lifejacket serial number date of check and the last date of service if applicable available 2 0 Servicing maintenance procedure at periods not exceeding 12 months e The lifejacket should be visually inspected as per inspection check list and the service reguirements recorded e At 12 monthly intervals or immediately if the lifejacket has been inflated or immersed in water or load applied to harness belt Pa ita re arm re pack and care for your Lifejacketl The following parts areas should be checked e General materials webbings buckles crutch strap e General stitching e Rip amp velcro fastenings e Reflective tapes e Automatic emergency light e Whistle e Automatic firing mechanisms e Co2 gas cylinders e Oral inflation tubes valves full lifejacket inflation 2 nj D 2 04 Service check procedure 5 4 1 General check e Check that the lifejacket stole and cover match exactly the diagrams as attached and that all component parts are present e Check for damage tears to all materials component parts trim amp accessories Any defects return to distributor factory for service Missing defective crutch straps can be re
5. e discarded disposed of parts supplied by Mariteam o 4 9 Oral inflation tubes valves amp full lifejacket inflation To check this a full inflation test is required as follows e Check that both front and back oral tubes are intact undamaged and black dust caps are fitted e With compressed air equipment or a manometer and through the standard oral tube on the back of the inflatable chambers inflate the rear chamber to 0 5 p s i or 3 5 K p a e With the same equipment inflated the front chamber through the front oral tube with over pressure valve until the over pressure valve blows off e Leave the lifejacket inflatable chambers inflated for a minimum of 12 hours e Check the inflatable chambers after 12 hours if they are still at full pressure they can be deflated by depressing each valve in the oral inflation tubes at front and back and pressing down on the bladder to expel the air If the inflatable chambers have deflated in any way after 12 hours the inflatable chambers must be rejected and returned to the manufacturer for an interchangeable replacement CAULUOR 2010 01 HAMMAR RETER SOLUTIONS FOR SAFETY AT SEA LA E THE HAMMAR LIFEJACKET INFLATOR REARMING INSTRUCTION 1 2 3 Place the lifejacket PFD Personal Insert metal key and turn the key Now turn black locking ring anti clock Floating Device on a flat smooth sur anti clockwise between black locking wise and lift off cap cap yellow infla

9. ro at the very top of the cover is fastened closed The zip heads are pulled up with the bladder inside to the very top of the cover underneath the velcro and left in this position whilst packing the rest of the bladder Fold the right outer side of the bladder underneath and clear of the mechanism Fold the inner right side of the bladder underneath away from the mechanism Fold the bottom of the bladder underneath away from the mechanism Whilst holding the folded lobe pull the zip head down to fasten that side of the cover closed Ensure that the mechanism pull cord pull handle is clearly visible and usable outside the cover and can not slip back into the cover Fold the inner side of the left lobe over Fold the outer side of the left bladder lobe over Fold the bottom of the bladder over away from the mechanism Whilst holding the folded lobe pull the zip head down to fasten that side of the cover closed Ensure that the mechanism pull cord pull handle is clearly visible and usable outside the cover and can not slip back into the cover By using this folding method and fastening the buckles on the waist belt and crutch strap correctly the bladder should work efficiently and open correctly when deployed Mun Correct lifejacket packing procedure A 2 2 lt a Muri 7 Storage when not in use the lifejacket should be stored in a well ventilated room not subject to extremes in temperature extended periods of bright su
