PEAK LED The master section has a big two colour LED reading all in and outgoing signals The attack and release timeconstants are designed to easily hold peaks a little while longer for easy indentification The output of your P ubmate is 4dBu 1 23v when the LED is green with occasional being red on peaks EQUALISATION The output section has a stereo 3 band equalizer for tonal corrections The High control can increase or decrease the amount of high frequency content of your signal The MID control has a special amplifying range with a bell curve amplifying or attenuating only frequencies in the mid region of the frequency spectrum The LOW control also has a special curve called bell This is a special design that avoids damage to your loudspeakers when volume is pumped up too high Below 40 Hz the low frequency contents start to decrease again even with your LOW control fully tumed up The result is a tight bass without distortion due to overload of the loudspeakers MASTER OUTPUTS The Pubmate master volume controls A and B seperately control the two stereo outputs of the console Both outputs have separate XLR connectors and Cinch connectors for easy interfacing with amplifiers PHONES The phones output located on the frontpanel has an automatic input selector Normally the left right output is heard until a PFL switch is activated anywhere in the console that inmediately takes over the left right signal We advice you t

Acht professionele 60mm faders en hoge kwaliteits gesloten ALPS draaipotentiometers Cinch tulp ingangen en XLR voor de microfoon BEDIENINGS ELEMENTEN VAN DE INGANGS SECTIE STEREO LINE INGANGEN Deze acht ingangen zijn lijn niveau ingangen en hebben een gevoeligheid die geschikt is voor alle voorkomende CD spelers Tuners TV geluid Cassette decks Midi Disk spelers en DVD spelers Kanaal 7 en 8 zijn voorzien van een RAA correctieversterker die nodig is voor weergave van grammofoonplaten Bij het platen persen worden de lage tonen sterk verzwakt om meer muziek op de zwarte schijf te krijgen tevens worden de hoge tonen extra versterkt De R LA A correctieversterker nu versterkt de lage tonen en verzwakt de hoge zodat de oorspronkelijke verhoudingen tussen hoge en lage tonen weer hersteld wordt met het voordeel van lagere ruis en de mogelijkheid om meer nummers op een plaat te zetten Dit ter verduidelijking van de functie van de R I A A versterker U kunt deze correctieversterker aan zetten d m v een onderdekse schakelaar die te bereiken na afname van de deksel PFL DRUKTOETS De PFL druktoets geeft u de mogelijkheid om het lijnsignaal vooraf te beluisteren alvorens het signaal in de mix te schuiven Het gekozen signaal hoort u automatisch in de koptelefoon zodra de PFL toets geactiveerd is MIC INGANGEN Deze twee microfoon ingangen zijn geschikt voor zowel symmetrische gebalanceerde of a symmetrische ongebal

ECTORS ledere stereo lijn ingang beschikt over twee gescheiden aansluitbare tulp ingangen Achter op het connector paneel zitten acht vergulde stereo tulp chassisdelen en twee 3 polige XLR chassisdelen bestemd voor microfoons Ook aan de voorzijde zitten parallel aan de achterzijde twee XLR microfoon chassisdelen Een microfoon is een instrument dat acoustische signalen in electrische signalen omzet zonder enige versterking in de meeste gevallen Deze minuscuul kleine signalen moeten versterkt worden zonder storing en of ruisbijdrage door het mengpaneel hiervoor is de P ubmate uitstekend uitgerust MICROFOON INGANGSCONNECTORS In plaats van 1 gevoelige aansluiting aan de ingang heeft de Pubmate twee gevoelige aansluitingen per microfoonkanaal gebalanceerd Dit nu onderscheidt de Pubmate van de meeste andere discotheek mixers Het is mogelijk en zelfs een professionele eis de twee draden uit uw microfoon welke binnen in de afscherming van de microfoonkabel zitten aan te sluiten op de gebalanceerde ingangen op de volgende wijze Een ader op punt 2 van XLR connector De grote ronde connector met drie bussen en een ader op punt 3 punt 1 is de aarde welke aangesloten dient te worden op de mantel van de kabel die rondom de twee binnen aders ligt van uw microfoonkabel Wat heeft dit nu voor voordelen De op deze wijze aangesloten microfoonkabel is volkomen ongevoelig voor storingen van buiten af Indien u condensator microfoons heeft op

23. ght 60 mm professional faders and high grade sealed ALPS pots Cinch and XLR in outputs INPUTS The eight stereo line inputs are designed to accept signals from CD players Tuners TV sound Cassette decks Mini Disk players and or DVD players Channel 7 and 8 have a RIAA correction amp built in that can be activated when phono players need to be connected This is needed because on records low frequencies are recorded very on very low levels to be able to get more on the disk The high frequencies are recorded very loud to be able to bring down the noise level of the record when playing through a RIAA correction amp This amp amplifies the low frequencies again and attenuates the high frequencies to get everything in shape again with enough bass and high frequencies while reducing hiss which is part of the design You can activate this RIAA correction amp by pushing one or two small switches located on the main input PCB behind channel 7 and 8 Remove the cover first PFL SWITCH The PFL switch lets you pre fade listen to incoming signals before they are actually heard in the mixers output The PFL witch automatically switches the main outputs heard in the phones to the input where the PFL switch is activated MIC INPUTS There are two microphone inputs on XLR The mic input is a professional balanced input circuit this means that you now have a studio class microphone channel at your disposal A microphone is an instrument that turns acoust
24. he current between 0 1 Amp and 0 2 Amp is fatal Imagine that your home fuses of 20 Amp can handle 200 times more current than is necessary to kill How does resistance affect the shock a person feels A typical resistance between one hand to the other in dry condition could well over 100 000 Ohm If you are playing on stage your body is perspiring extensively and your body resistance is lowered by more than 5096 This is a situation in which current can easily flow Current will flow when there is a difference in ground potential between equipment on stage and in the P A system Please do check if there is any potential between the housing of the mikes and the guitarsynth amps which will be linked by your body on stage Imagine a guitar in your hand and your lips close to the mike A ground potential difference of above 10 volts is not unusual in improperly wired buildings it can possibly be as high as 240 volts Allthough removing the ground wire sometimes cures a system hum it will create a very hazardeous situation for the performing musician Always earth all your equipment by the grounding pin in your mains plug Hum loops should be only cured by proper wiring and isolation input output transformers Replace fuses always with the same type and rating after the equipment has been turned off and unplugged If the fuse blows again you have an equipment failure do not use it again and return it to your dealer for repair And last but not least
25. ical signals in electrical ones without any amplification in most cases These very small signals have to be amplified without any noise and interference from the mixing table The Pubmate is equipped for this purpose Instead of one sensitive connection at the input channel the Pubmate has 2 connections per channel balanced This is a major difference between the Pubmate and other disco mixers It is now possible to connect the 2 wires in your microphone cable to the balanced input as follows One wire to pin 2 ofthe XLR connector The other wire to pin 3 of the XLR connector The shielding on the remaining pin 1 of the connector What are the advantages of this system A microphone cable connected in this way is completely insensitive for outside interference The Mic channel has a two band equalizer for adjusting tonal differences between singers speakers The level control is a special circuit that combines a gain control with a volume control making it very easy to adjust levels without overloads FADERS The eight stereo line faders are mixing music from sources such as CD players Cassette decks etc We have chosen for short 60mm faders to make mixing between two sources much faster easier Pubmate manual page 10 POTENTIOMETERS All potentiometers in the Pubmate are manufactured by ALPS and completely sealed making them very insensitive for smoke and humidity which is a distinct advantage in locations with a lot of smo
26. king INPUT CONNECTORS Every stereo line input has two Cinch connectors The stereo line inputs need to be connected as follows The left Cinch connector is the left input and the right Cinch connector is the right input The shield needs to be connected to the ground The level needs to be between 10dBu and 10dBu The Mic inputs can be connected on the front or on the backpanel via 3 pole female XLR connectors SPECIAL OPTIONS IN YOUR PUBMATE Channel 7 and 8 are equipped with a special phono correction amp that needs to be activated when phono players are connected to these channels Before you do this make sure you turn off the Pubmate and remove the mains cable from the mixer ust alongside fader 7 and 8 is a small hole labelled phono This is the position where the switch is mounted on the backside of the input PCB These are the switches that need to be pushed down to activate the RIAA correction amp Use a small screwdriver to remove the cover and slowly push down the switch once If you need this channel for line level purposes again just de activate this switch by bringing it in its up position If this is all too difficult for you or you simply do not want to do this ask your dealer for help MASTER SECTION The Pubmate s master section is located on the right side of the mixer and houses all the electronics to sum all the input signals and PFL signals Also the power supply and the headphone amp are located here
27. microphones If you absolutely want to have connected 3 or 4 microphones to the Pubmate you can parallel them with the consequences of having a volume loss of at least 6dB half the volume on the mics It is advisable to use the same type of mics when you parallel these on one input LINE INPUTS These Cinch connectors are there to accept all your stereo sources such as CD players MD players Cassette decks TV sound Tuner Phone players etc Connector 7 and 8 can be made to accept Phono cartridges outputs by way of the internal phono switch below the frontpanel as discussed earlier MAINS INPUT The mains inlet is a euro type connector with built in fuse Your Pubmate can accept voltages between 210 volts and 230 volts 50 60Hz The built in fuse is a slow blow type of 500mA never replace this fuse by higher values In case of 115 volt local power the value of the fuse needs to be increased to 1 Amps The Pubmate is designed for 210 230volt only unless ordered from the factory for different voltages such as 115volt Do nottry to change this yourself Ask your dealer SETTING UP ROUTINES Connect a power amp to the left right outputs Connect a medium impedance headphone to the phones jacks on the front Connectthe microphones as described Act like wise with Turntables Tapedecks and CD playeres etc Now that everything is connected follow the adjustment procedure Note for Turn tables activate the below frontpanel positio
