Drop side 5 cot assembly Step 1 constructing the cot Insert one of the eight barrel nuts B into each pre drilled hole of the mattress base Using two long bolts A per corner secure at the desired height the head end 1 and the foot end 2 to the mattress base 3 Do not tighten the bolts fully at the moment NOTE The lowest base position is the safest and should always be used as soon as baby is old enough to sit up Step 2 attaching the fixed side Secure the cot fixed side 4 by passing the four short bolts C through the pre drilled holes in the fixed cot side into the cot ends Step 3 day bed To use as a day bed simply omit assembling the cot drop side to the cot bed and secure all the bolts Step 4 drop side preparation Insert the two upper guides D amp retaining screws F into the pre routed holes and the two lower guide pins E into the pre drilled holes on either end Step 5 fitting the drop side Engagement of metal top track 5 1 situated on the drop side 5 and upper guides D will start at the bottom of the metal top track Slowly slide the drop side up to about an inch from the top of the cot Engage the lower guide pins E into the bottom track 5 2 on both sides by flexing the bottom legs nearest to the drop side The purpose of flexing the legs is to create a gap large enough for the lower guide pins E to engage the bottom track 5 2 Once both ends are engaged carefully a
