Octobre 2007 6 jette st Cronolog a de Dios Habia transcurrido mucho tiempo una espera con mucho espacio un vac o que yo sent a en lo personal demasiado grande inexplicable Efectivamente la ausencia org nica del Distrito 32 87 Espa ol era notable en mi grupo base Vivien do Sobrio est bamos desconectados de la informaci n desarrollo 6 avance de Alco h licos An nimos a nivel mundial no ten a mos un RSG y tampoco un Dis trito funcionando sin embargo recibiamos correspondencia de Nueva Cork por ser grupo regis trado a Servicios Generales Me parec a inconcebible geografica mente hablando la distancia en tre la ubicaci n de mi grupo ba se y la OSG de Montr al pade ciendo de semejante incomuni caci n esta situaci n me pare c a no corresponder al objetivo primordial de nuestra comunidad y a la vez poniendo de lado el prop sito com n al cual yo siempre le he dedicado mi m s f rrea leal tad sin embargo otros compa eros se hab an reunido a t tulo personal en un gru po con las mismas inquietudes y al no po nerse de acuerdo con el m todo a utilizar hab an fracasado en el intento de formar dicho Distrito Esta acci n manifestaba de alguna manera que las condiciones para reactivar el Distrito estaban tomando el cur so adecuado En ese per odo en mi grupo base se decide discutir esta situaci n de vac o en cuanto a la relaci n directa con la OSG a trav s del RSG y ve la necesidad p

9. as of Qu bec There would be a lot to write about this wonderful weekend but must be as brief as possible will therefore limit myself to some pertinent information about forums HOW SPECIAL AND TERRITORIAL FORUMS CAME TO BE Since 1975 we have had 154 Special and Territorial Forums At the beginning these Forums were mini con ferences aimed to reach members everywhere in Canada and in the United States to transmit the experience of the General Service Conference The first mini conference was held in Atlanta Georgia in December of 1975 However the 1976 Conference finally recommended That we go ahead with the mini conferences and that we have them as often as possible that they occur only when asked for by the territories and that the name be changed to AA Territorial Forums Not long afterwards the Conference decided in order to reach a greater number of trusted servants in far away areas to create a Mini Forum 1979 was the beginning of the Special Forums From 2008 it was planned not more than two or three times a year to incorporate the local Forums to the calendar of the Territorial Forums in replacement of the Special Forums The next Forum for Eastern Canada will be held in 2008 from June 20 to 22 in Truro Nova Scotia So there it is hoping it has excited your curiosity For additional information ask your DCM for a copy of the minutes of the Forum CHO ECHO ECO Septembre

20. r ask them about their connection to the event This reinforces the feeling of fellowship that is an important part of the A A experience This is even more so when can help an out of town caller or visitor Calls asking about de tox or treat ment centers help increase my under standing and tolerance for the problems of others and the variety of paths to recovery Calls from family members trying to help an alcoholic relative are never fun but they help me remember the damage did and people affected when was a drunk This is invaluable to me when am becoming complacent in my daily routines and regu lar meetings Calls from drunks are some times funny sometimes baffling some times an opportunity for intense 12 step ping which can be especially rewarding when can be useful myself and also give an opportunity for one of the 12 step 9 workers to get involved On every shift there is at least one call from someone that doesnt need information and doesnt have an alcohol related problem These callers often regulars are lonely or want to com plain or boast about their lives or even ar gue with me Although it isn t always easy try to listen to these people with as much sympathy as can muster even if dont share their difficulties They are God s chil dren also When first started on the Helpline two aspects bothered me One was the quiet periods between calls and the other was not knowing which calle
