TM gt Service Manual DELL J SR ES Dell Mobile Computing Station CUSTOM SOLUTION FOR DELL BY ERGOTRON Ethernet Cable Replacement FOR SERVICE CALL 800 888 8458 CRU OR VISIT www ergotron com Dell NOTICE Customer Replacement Unit A Certified Technician is not needed to undertake this replacement procedure K000951 Kit Contents e Ethernet Cable Cord 1 M4 screw e 1 P Clip Required Tools e Small Flashlight e 2 mm hex wrench e Phillips screwdriver Please perform the preremoval steps listed below before attempting to install or remove ANY hardware from your Dell Mobile Computing Station MCS Preremoval Steps 1 Disconnect the MCS Ethernet Cord from the electrical outlet 2 Disconnect the MCS network cable from the Ethernet outlet TIPS Place a drop cloth under working area to catch loose parts e Use a small flashlight to illuminate interior compartments e Use magnetized tools to prevent loosing fasteners or to retrieve fasteners that have been dropped Ethernet Cord Replacement Steps 3 Unlock and open the upper compart ment doors 4 Unlock and open the lower compart ment doors NOTE Before proceeding to Step 5 mark the Ethernet connection loca tions on the Wireless Router Cable Diagram on the next page 888 97 067 W 01 rev B 08 09 5 Disconnect the Ethernet Ethernet cable from the wireless router located eee beneath the lower compartment shelf ae 6 Use a 2 mm hex wren2. ables Utilisez un tournevis cruciforme pour en lever les dix vis qui tiennent la baie de cables en place sur la paroi ext rieure 8 En ayant soin de ne pas endommager le c ble Ethernet d logez la baie de c ble du MCS Retirez le c ble Ethernet d fectueux hors du compartiment inf rieur et au travers de l ouverture dans la baie de c bles 9 Acheminez le nouveau cordon Eth ernet dans le compartiment inf rieur et connectez le au routeur sans fil au m me en droit qu avant r f rez vous au diagramme 10 Utilisez un tournevis cruciforme pour remettre la baie de c bles avec les dix vis qui sont fournies 11 R attachez le clip en P autour du nouveau cable Ethernet dans le comparti ment inf rieur en utilisant une cl hexago nale de2 mm 12 Fermez et verrouillez les portes du com partiment inf rieur 13 Fermez et verrouillez les portes du com partiment sup rieur 14 Branchez les cables de r seau et d alimentation 15 V rifiez le fonctionnement du syst me LE REMPLACEMENT DU C BLE ETHER NET EST MAINTENANT TERMIN SOLUTION PERSONNALIS E POUR DELL PAR ERGOTRON POUR TOUT SERVICE APR S VENTE APPELER AU 800 888 8458 OU CONSULTER www ergotron com Dell J ERGOTRON 2009 Ergotron Inc Tous droits r serv s Tandis qu Ergotron Inc fait tous les efforts pour fournir des renseignements pr cis et complets sur l installation et l utilisation de ses produits elle n
3. ch to remove the screw holding the P clip in place around the Ethernet Cord in the lower compartment 7 Unwrap the Power Cord and Ethernet connector in the cord bay Use a Phillips Screwdriver to remove the ten screws holding the cord bay in place on the exterior wall 8 Taking care not to damage the Ethernet Cord dislodge the cord bay from the MCS Pull the faulty Ethernet Cord out of the lower compartment and through the opening in the Cord Bay 9 Route the new Ethernet Cord into the lower compartment and connect it to the wireless router in the same location as before refer to diagram 10 Use a Phillips screwdriver to reat tach the cord bay with the provided ten screws 11 Reattach the P clip around the new Ethernet Cord in the lower compart ment using a 2 mm hex wrench 12 Close and lock the lower compart ment doors 13 Close and lock the upper compart ment doors 14 Plug in network and power cables 15 Verify system operation 2 4 ETHERNET CORD REPLACEMENT IS NOW COMPLETE CUSTOM SOLUTION FOR DELL BY ERGOTRON FOR SERVICE CALL 800 888 8458 OR VISIT www ergotron com Dell ERGOTRON a All rights reserved While Ergotron Inc makes every effort to provide accurate and complete information on the installation and use of its products it will not be held liable for any editorial errors or omissions including those made in the process of translation from English to another languag

6. mm e Tournevis cruciforme Pri re d ex cuter les tapes pr alables num r es ici bas avant d essayer d installer ou d enlever TOUT mat riel de votre station de travail mobile Dell MCS tapes pr alables 1 D branchez le cordon d alimentation du MCS la prise secteur 2 D branchez le c ble r seau du MCS de la sortie Ethernet CONSEILS Placez une toile de protection sous votre zone de travail pour r cup rer les pi ces d tach es e Utilisez une petite lampe de poche pour clairer les comparti ments int rieurs e Utilisez des outils magn tis s pour viter de perdre des attaches ou pour r cup rer des attaches qui sont tomb es tapes du remplacement du c ble Ethernet 3 D verrouillez et ouvrez les portes du compartiment sup rieur 4 D verrouillez et ouvrez les portes du compartiment inf rieur lt 0 NOTE Avant de passer l tape 5 marquez les positions de la connex ion Ethernet sur le diagramme du c ble du routeur sans fil la page suivante 888 97 067 W 01 rev B 08 09 5 D connectez le cable Ethernet du routeur sans fil situ au dessous de la tablette du compartiment inf rieur Station de travail mobile Dell 6 Utilisez une cl hexagonale de 2 mm pour desserrer la vis qui tient le clip en P en place autour du c ble Ethernet dans le compartiment inf rieur 7 D garnissez le cordon d alimentation et le connecteur Ethernet dans la baie de c
