5. 4 5 1 Bleeding Air from the Fuel Lines Normally the fuel system is designed to bleed out air itself During starting air is bled from the fuel system automatically by the fuel pump For first time operation i e all hoses are empty it is recommended that the system be bled as follows 1 Switch main power OFF 2 Disconnect wire connector 5 oil pressure sensor from the control panel connection block mounted on generator See diagram below 3 Switch main power switch on control panel ON and system alone for apx 5 minutes The electric fuel pump will now run and bleed the air from the fuel lines automatically Do NOT press the START button 4 Switch main power switch on control panel OFF this turns the system off and thus the fuel pump also off 5 Reconnect wire connector 5 on the control panel connection block If air bubbles are still in the fuel lines unscrew the fuel line connection screw at the fuel injection valve on cylinder head or the ventilation screw at the fuel injection pump Hold a rag or cloth under the ventilation screw to absorb the fuel which runs out and repeat the above procedure steps 1 5 Let the fuel pump run only as long as is required to bleed out the remaining air bubbles in the fuel lines Replace the injection valve fuel line connection screw or fuel pump ventilation screw and re tighten once the system is free of air bubbles Borne plate DC sur le groupe 01

136. s ou de grande valeur un dispositif de protection automatique doit tre install pour les prot ger contre toute surtension relais de protection voltm trique avec mise hors de circuit Standard electricity generated by normal power plants is sup plied in the range 230V 4 13 50Hz in Europe and 120V resp 8 20 60Hz in North America For most electrical equipment these voltages lie well within the acceptable range for problem free operation In certain foreign countries the range of voltages can be even higher PANDA generators have been designed such that under normal electrical loading the voltage will remain well within the acceptable limits This is achieved by the use of the ABS wich is fitted within the AC Controlbox If the voltage should drop due to the switching on of an electric motor which reqieres a high starting voltage then this is compensated by the use of a capacitor condensor which is activated by the electronics for approx 2 sec This encreases that the voltage remains within limmits During periods of high electric loading the voltage may drop to 190V 50Hz or 95V 60Hz or even lower Such voltage drops can potentially cause damage to certain electrical devices such as electric motors compressors and electronic equipment The electronics of the AC Control box senses differences in voltage Should this rise above or fall below parameters then the relay for the fuel pump will be cut out This is switc

141. tage Ifthe generator does not produce any voltage the suspected cause lies outside the generator capsule e g electrical load not switched off prior to start short circuit somewhere in electrical system electrical overload 3 3 1 Test the generator In orderto check the generator for faults stop the generator and disconnectthe AC connection cables from the generator to the board system while the generator is NOT running All cable connections of the Board Main Supply are to discon nected the cable must be removed from the power terminal Remove generator cables from the AC Control box Once the main AC terminals have been disconnected the generator should be restarted and the voltage checked at the terminals with a voltmeter If the generator still does not supply sufficient voltage the following steps must be undertaken 1 Check the rev speed of the motor If the rev speed is too low the generator may not be able to achieve full magnetic exci tation and thus the required output voltage If the engine ro tational speed is too high the generator excitation will im prove but the generated voltage can also be too high 2 If the rev speed is normal and the output voltage is still out side the acceptable range the capacitors should be inspec ted Do not touch the capacitor terminals Normally how ever it is highly unlikely that the capacitors are faulty In the event that one or more of the capacitors are indee
