Coniston Rotating Bather VR130 Fixing and Maintenance Instructions EN INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing to purchase the Coniston Rotating Bather The Coniston is manufactured using only the finest materials available If used in accordance with the user instructions the Coniston should give you many years of continuous service DUTY OF CARE Always consult with the prescriber Physiotherapist if you are in any doubt that this product is suitable for your use N B This equipment must be installed by a competent person and a risk assessment may be needed as to the suitability of the chair for the particular user 150 kg 24st weight limit Do not exceed the weight limit stated doing so could put the user atrisk BEFORE USE e Carefully remove all packaging Avoid using any knives of other sharp instruments as this may damage the surface of the product e Check the product for any visible damage If you see any damage or suspect a fault do not use your product but contact your supplier for support INTENDED USE The Coniston is designed to traverse a rectangular bath of the following widths 700 mm 750 mm and 800 mm nominal only The seat rotates enabling the user to transfer onto the seat then rotate back and lock into position facing down the bath It is designed to be used as a bathing aid only CONSTRUCTION Frame Non rust Aluminium Side bath grippers Stainless steel and plastic Side bath adjusters Stainles2. If you reissue or are about to reissue this product please thoroughly check all components for their safety This includes e Tightness of all nuts bolts castors and other screw in bolt in push in components e Also check all upholstery if applicable for security splits exposed staples etc If in any doubt please do not issue or use but immediately contact your supplier for service support When reissuing a risk assessment may be required as to the suitability of the chair for a particular user USE OF BATH OILS Caution should be observed if you are using any form of bath oils or oily skin preparation with your Coniston as this may impair your natural contact skin resistance In the event of using any such oil your seat must be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable detergent to break down any oily residue Failure to observe this recommendation could impair your safety CARE amp MAINTENANCE Your Coniston rotating bather is provided with the spline and female coupling pre greased It will be necessary for you to re grease on an occasional basis this will ensure the continued smooth operation of your product The first sign of the need to re grease will be when the rotating action becomes tight this is normally followed by a squeaking noise To carry out the re grease simply remove the seat section from the base exposing the spline and female coupling Grease both sections and carefully reassemble following the instructions u

5. ched into the Coniston to further increase the width as this could seriously compromise the user s safety and will invalidate any warranty Once you are satisfied that you have located the correct pre punched hole carefully reinsert the E Clip see fig 1a ensuring that it passes completely through the frame see fig 2 While the Coniston has been designed for use with 700 mm 750 mm and AN 800 mm wide baths the width of an installed bath may vary in that the longside of the bath rim next to the wall may be fully buried If you have an insufficient amount of the bath rim exposed it is strongly advised that you install our wall fixed support plate this is designed to prevent the Coniston tilting whilst in use Contact the Aidapt Equipment Sales Office on 44 0 1744 745 045 for more details 6 The side arms of the Coniston rotating bather can also be adjusted To adjust the arms turn the seat part of the bather upside down Adjusting one arm at a time press down on the two gold domed clips holding the arms in place slide the arm to the desired width ensuring the domed clips pass back through the frame see fig 3 Repeat the process for the other arm ensuring that both arms are adjusted to the same width tA PT fig 3 7 Once you have adjusted the width adjusters and side arms if necessary to suit the bath carefully place the base section onto the bath rim long edge Undo the nuts holding the side su

9. ly separate the seat section from the base section and bolt the extender on the base section using the four locking nuts and bolts provided eo After ensuring that all four bolts are tightly secured place the seat section m back into place ensuring that the spline of the extension piece fully locates into the female locator hole on the base of the seat Test the extension piece by rotating the seat through 360 and locking the seat into each of the predetermined lock points set at 90 intervals fig 7 It is important that you test the Coniston rotating bather for security prior to A each use If the seat or frame or extension piece is loose in any way please repeat the installation instructions above The use of the Coniston bather extender will alter the centre of gravity It is strongly advised that you use the wall stabilizing plate in conjunction with the extender to reduce the chance of tilt CLEANING All of the product components are manufactured from quality materials However it is very important that you only clean your Coniston using a non abrasive cleaner or mild detergent with a soft cloth avoid using lime scale remover Abrasive cleaners e g AJAX and or abrasive cleaning pads will seriously damage your product beyond repair N B Regular daily cleaning will reduce the build up of lime scale on your product UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES must you use any abrasive cleaners or materials on any of the components REISSUE

12. n Sie dazu das Sitzteil um Um einen Arm nach dem anderen einzustellen dr cken Sie auf die goldenen Clips welche die Arme fixieren Schieben Sie dann den Arm auf die gew nschte Breite und stellen Sie sicher dass die Clips danach wieder zur ck durch den Rahmen reichen s Abb 3 Wiederholen Sie den Prozesses f r den anderen Arm und stellen Sie sicher dass beide Arme auf dieselbe Breite eingestellt sind Abb 3 7 Nachdem Sie die St tzen und die Seitenarme falls erforderlich in ihrer Breite an die Wanne angepasst haben platzieren Sie die Basis des Stuhls auf dem Wannenrand lange Kante 8 L sen Sie von Hand die die Muttern welche die seitlichen St tzen fixieren Stellen Sie beide St tzen so ein dass auch die beiden F e auf gleicher L nge sind und sicher auf dem Wannenrand aufliegen Ziehen Sie die Muttern danach wieder fest um die Basis der Komponente zu fixieren 9 Wenn Sie mit der Installation der Basiseinheit fertig sind k nnen Sie den Sitz befestigen Heben Sie dazu die Sitzfl che vorsichtig auf die Basis Dazu muss der Sitz mit dem Loch auf seiner Unterseite s Abb 4 auf den Stiel der Basis gesteckt werden Abb 4 PR FEN DES GER TS Bevor Sie den Sitz verwenden ist es wichtig dass Sie ihn auf seine korrekte Installation berpr fen Drehen Sie dazu den Sitzteil um volle 360 und berpr fen Sie ob der Sitz wie gewollt alle 90 fest einrastet s Abb 5 Abb 5 Abb 6 Aufbau und Wart

17. orts lat raux en place avec la main Ajustez les deux supports de mani re gale jusqu ce qu ils soient galement ajust s et s accrochant sur le c t de la baignoire Lorsque les supports lat raux sont correctement ajust s resserrez les crous pour garder la base de l unit en place Une fois que vous tes satisfait de l installation de l unit de base vous tes maintenant pr t fixer le si ge Levez avec pr caution le si ge sur le top de la base en vous assurant que l orifice de montage femelle sur la base du si ge voir fig 4 est align la section de base et mettre en place fig 4 TESTER L UNIT Avant d utiliser le si ge il est important que vous v rifiez qu il est install correctement Testez l unit en faisant pivoter l unit 360 et v rifiez que les attaches du Coniston dans les points d attache pr d termin s et qui sont r gl s 90 d intervalle voir fig 5 d b I pi gt fig 5 fig 6 Notice d installation et d entretien Ver 4 08 2012 1562 10 Pour faire pivoter le si ge soulevez les leviers de blocage de chaque c t du si ge voir fig 6 et fa tes pivoter le si ge au point de blocage d sir Effectuez un nouveau test pour la rotation et la stabilit Si vous tes satisfait alors le si ge de bain pivotant Coniston est pr t utiliser chaque utilisation Si le si ge ou le cadre est desserr veuillez r p ter les instructions d insta
18. pports in place by hand Adjust both supports equally until both grippers are equally adjusted and gripping the side of the bath When the side supports are properly adjusted tighten the nuts to keep the base of the unit in place 8 Once you are satisfied that the base unit is correctly installed you are now ready to attach the seat Carefully lift the seat section onto the top of the base ensuring that the female locator hole on the base of the seat see fig 4 is lined up and located onto the spline of the base section and lower into place TESTING THE UNIT Before using the seat it is important that you test it has been installed correctly Test the unit by rotating the unit a full 360 and checking that the Coniston locks into the predetermined lock points which are set at 90 intervals see fig 5 w E T gt N i 7 e i fig 5 fig 6 To rotate the seat lift the locking levers on either side of the seat see fig 6 and rotate the seat to the desired lock point Finally retest for rotation and stability If you are satisfied then your Coniston rotating bather is ready for use It is important that you test the Coniston rotating bather for security prior to each use If the seat or frame is loose in any way please repeat the installation instructions above FITTING THE EXTENSION PIECE If required the Coniston bather extender can be fitted to provide extra height to the seat see fig 7 To fit careful

20. s steel alloy and plastic rubber Seat Polypropylene plastic in two sections Top section consisting of seat arms and lock handles Bottom section consisting of bath frame with adjusters INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1 2 4 5 Firstly remove the Coniston rotating bather from its packaging Visually check for any damage and fully test all moving parts prior to installation Check the width of the bath you intend to install the Coniston rotating bather onto The Coniston is designed to fit onto three nominal widths of bath these are 700 mm 750 mm and 800 mm These widths are the most common found in the EU Do not attempt to install the Coniston on any other type of bath doing so may seriously compromise the safety of the user Once you have checked the width of the bath if necessary adjust all four of the width adjusters If the Coniston is to be installed on a 700 mm wide bath leave the width adjuster in the closed position If the bath is wider than 700 mm it may be necessary to alter the width adjuster see fig 1 This is achieved by carefully removing the E clip see fig 1a and pulling the blue plastic coloured bath gripper towards you fig 1 fig 1a fig 2 When you are satisfied that you have located the correct punched hole this is normally the second punched hole for 750 mm wide baths and the third punched hole for 800 mm wide baths Under no circumstances must any further holes be drilled or pun

22. ungsanleitung Ver 4 08 2012 1562 16 Um den Sitz nach seinem Einrasten weiter zu rotieren heben Sie einen der Hebel an der Seite des Sitzes s Abb 6 an und und rotieren Sie den Sitz zur n chsten Einrast Position weiter Zum Schluss pr fen Sie den Sitz auf seine allgemeine Stabilit t Wenn Sie mit der Pr fung zufrieden sind ist Ihr Coniston bereit f r den Einsatz Es ist wichtig dass Sie den Coniston vor jedem Einsatz auf seine Sicherheit berpr fen Sollte der Sitz oder Rahmen lose sein so wiederholen Sie die Schritte zur Installation wie oben beschrieben ANBRINGEN DER ERH HUNG Falls n tig kann der Coniston mit einer Erh hung ausgestattet werden die dem Sitz zus tzliche H he verleiht Um diese anzubringen entfernen Sie den Sitz von der Basis und fixieren Sie die Erh hung auf der Basis mit Hilfe der vier mitgelieferten Schrauben und Muttern Nachdem sie sichergestellt haben dass Schrauben und Muttern der Erh hung festsitzen stecken Sie den Sitz wie zuvor beschrieben wieder auf die Basis s berpr fen Sie auch hier wieder die korrekte Rotation des Sitzes indem Sie ihn 360 drehen und alle 90 einrasten lassen Abb 7 Die Benutzung dieser Erh hung ver ndert den Schwerpunkt des Sitzes Es wird deshalb AN dringend empfohlen die Erh hung zusammen mit der angebotenen Tr gerplatte zu benutzen um ein Kippen des Coniston zu vermeiden REINIGUNG Alle Produkte werden aus hochwert
