1. Theassembler is urged to follow the instructions exact ly as provided The Heath Company assumes norespons ibility nor liability for any damages or injuries sustained in the assembly of the device or in the operation of the completed instrument HEATH COMPANY Benton Harbor Michigan For VTVM S with 3y Full Scale Range ASSEMBLING THE HEATHKIT no s HIGH VOLTAGE PROBE KIT PROBE BODY BODY SPRING l T 1 COLAR SCREW 1030 MEGOHM RESISTOR CCG som Cum D CNN HANDLE THE 1090 MEGOHM RESISTOR WITH CARE AS OUTLINED IN THE NOTE PACKED WITH THIS PART Remove the screw from one end and replace with the collar screw Screw the body spring onto the long part of the collar screw Slip the insulator sleeve over the body spring and slip this assembly Into the probe body with the resistor towards the tip Assemble the cable as shown by soldering the test lead to the proper lug on the phone plug Then replace the bakelite cap on the phone plug Now solder the test lead to the eyelet in the connector Screw the test lead assembly to the probe body thus compressing the body spring and insuring proper con tact between resistor and tip and between spring and test lead assembly This test probe when used with a standard 11 megobm input resistance VTVM will increase the voltage ranges by a factor of 100 Connect the probe to the VTVM in place of the regular DC test probe PARTS LIST 492 1 1 Connector 476 2 1 P2. corps du connecteur puis immobilisez le sa place en serrant la vis de pression lat rale 1 Vissez maintenant le connecteur sur le corps de la sonde en comprimant le ressort de pression de la r sistance Pendant cette op ration veillez ce que l extr mit de la r sistance fasse bon contact avec la pointe de touche de m me que le ressort de pression avec le connecteur NB De bons contacts sont essentiels pour que la sonde THT remplisse sa fonction La sonde est maintenant assembl e Connectez la votre voltm tre lectronique la place du cordon de mesure pour courant continu Reli e un voltm tre lectronique dont l imp dance d entr e est de 11 MQ toutes les lectures seront multipli es par le facteur 100 Ainsi la gamme 100 V devient 10 000 V la gamme 150 V devient 15 000 V et la gamme 300 V devient 30 000 V Attention Quoique th oriquement la gamme 500 V puisse tre tendue pour des me sures de 50 000 V nous d conseillons vivement l utilisation au del de 30 000 Volts Cette sonde l ve l imp dance d entr e du voltm tre lectronique 1100 MQ Cette particularit permet de faire des mesures dans des circuits haute r sistance sans modifier la charge Cette r sistance additionnelle permet galement d utiliser les gammes 1 5 Volts 3 Volts ou 5 Volts La gamme 1 5 V devient 150 V la gamme 3 V devient 300 V et la gamme 5 V devient 500 V MODE D EMPLOI DE LA SONDE ATTENTION LES H

4. 090 M2 AVEC PRECAUTION AINSI QU IL EST INSTAMMENT RECOMMANDE DANS LA NOTE JOINTE DANS L EMBALLAGE DE CETTE PIECE CONSEILS DE CONSTRUCTION Retirez la vis de l une des extr mit s de la r sistance de 1090 MEI et remplacez la par la vis collerette No 250 6 Vissez maintenant le ressort de pression sur la partie filet e de la vis collerette Glissez le manchon isolant sur le ressort de pression puis introduisez les en semble dans le corps de la sonde la r sistance tant dirig e vers la pointe de touche Retirez 6 mm d isolant chaque extr mit des deux cordons puis tamez l g re ment les brins D vissez le capuchon de la prise de Jack et glissez les deux cordons ensemble au travers du trou de passage comme indiqu Soudez le cordon rouge la cosse centrale de la prise de Jack et le cordon noir la cosse lat rale Rabattez les languettes d ancrage sur les cordons afin d emp cher qu une traction n arrache les cosses II Revissez le capuchon sur la prise 1 1 Soudez la pince crocodile l autre extr mit du cordon noir Glissez l autre extr mit du cordon rouge au travers du flexible du connecteur en commencant par la partie vas e dont l extr mit doit d boucher dans l oeil let au centre du disque isolant comme indiqu puis soudez rapidement NB Un temps de soudure exag r risquerait de br ler l isolant wearers Page 3 1 Forcez le flexible dans le
