3. b Return the steering wheel stick to neutral The front tires wheels should point straight forward If not use the steering trim lever to correct it C Turn the steering wheel stick to the right The front tires wheels should turn right accordingly OPERATING RADIO THROTTLE BRAKE F LT 73 UNCTION a Check the radio throttle brake functions With the radio transmitter and receiver on pull the trigger push the stick forward The carburetor should be fully opened and the brake disengaged To reverse this function flip the throttle orake servo reverse switch b Return the trigger stick to neutral The carburetor should be closed to a point where the idle has been set see step for ADJUSTING THROTTLE BRAKE LINKAGE and the brake still disengaged If not use the throttle brake trim lever to correct it C Push the trigger pull the stick backward The carburetor opening should still be the same at neutral throttle spring compressed slightly and the brake engaged ADJUSTING THROTTLE a To set the throttle brake linkage first the radio should be on and neutral thus the servo is at neutral position b With the servo at neutral turn and adjust the brake collar to a point where the brake lever almost engages the brake system but not yet C With the servo at neutral loosen the throttle collars Then manually close the carburetor and set the collar next to the spring with

9. enough power to injure people seriously and do substantial property damage CAUTION 2 Pee ore Never operate your engine at high R P M is with the wheels off the ground Otherwise damaged in a few seconds STOP YOUR ENGINE Cut off the fuel supply to the carburetor by pinching the fuel line closed or disconnect the fuel line at idle BREAK IN RUN IN PROCEDURES Because your Thunder Tiger engine has been precision made from quality materials and is an ABC type engine a prolonged break in period is not necessary In fact your engine can be run in your car to break it in 1 We strongly recommended a fuel containing 20 caster oil or castor synthetic blend with no more than 10 nitromethane be used for break in We strongly discourage using fuel containing only synthetic lubricants during the initial break in period 2 Turn the needle valve clockwise to the fully closed position and back counter clockwise about 2 2 1 2 turns Start your engine as described above 3 Use the throttle stop screw to set the idle position with the throttle opening approximately 1m m where the engine runs at a fast idle but without engaging the clutch Then disconnect the battery from the glow plug 4 Let the car run down the longest available straight or at least around a wide curve of sufficient radius to permit full throttle driving and allow the engine to consume the entire tank of fuel at this needle setting If it stops from being

M NEN H install the receiver batteries Place 4 fresh AA alkaline dry cells into the battery case making sure to observe the proper polarity CAUTION IMPROPER INSTALLATION OF THE DRY CELLS CAN CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO YOUR RECEIVER AND SERVOS Maintain the battery contacts in the same way as described in previous section Insert the switch harness plug into the receiver slot marked BATT as shown in Fig 4 remember this is to remind yourself to always have your receiver listening to the transmitter If you turn the transmitter off prior to turning off the receiver the receiver has nothing to listen to and this condition can sometimes damage the servo output gear train because of jitters or excessive servo travel beyond normal limits Now let s install your radio into your model Servos Mount the servos as recommended in your model s instruction manual Follow these general guidelines for servo mounting Remember that vibration is the biggest enemy of servos Always use the supplied rubber grommets properly installed in the mounting lugs of the servo case as Fig 6 install the mounting screws securely but compress the rubber grommet just a little or the shock absorbing properties of the grommet will be lost Make sure that the servo case does not touch any part of the servo tray as the vibration transmitted throughout the model will reduce the life of your servos Vibration is more sever
