1. 8 Setting up your remote control for your TV You can set up your remote control to operate the basic features of your TV This enables you to control your TV and your Digital Satellite Receiver with just one remote control You must first configure your remote control by using the correct TV code for your TV brand You can either set the code yourself see section 8 1 Using the TV code table or let your remote control search for the correct code see section 8 2 Code search 8 1 Using the TV code table Make sure that your TV is switched on A Press and hold down OK and TV together until the TV button blinks twice E Use the number buttons to enter a fourdigit TV code for your TV brand see pages 106 through 109 If the code you entered is correct the TV button blinks twice El Press TV to see if you are able to switch off your TV If your TV does not respond repeat steps to 4 with each code listed for your brand If none of the codes operate your TV or if your brand is not listed either download the complete TV code table from your Digital TV service pro vider s website or try the code search described in the next section 8 2 Code search Make sure that your TV is switched on 2 Press and hold down OK and TV together until the TV button blinks twice E Use the number buttons to enter 9 9 I The TV button blinks twice again El Press TV H Aim the remote control at your TV and2. press CH repeatedly until your TV turns off Each time you press CH the remote control sends a POWER TV off signal using the next TV code contained in the remote control s library You may have to press CH many times up to 150 times The code search can take up to 15 minutes If you skip a code you can search through the previous code s by pressing CH Remember to keep pointing the remote control at your television during the code search D As soon as your TV switches off press OK The TV button blinks twice to confirm that the TV code has been set Once it is set up you can switch the remote control to operate your TV by first pressing TV To switch back to operating your Digital Satellite Receiver press STB e Note The TV and AV buttons are set by default to control your TV The VOL and MUTE can be set to control your TV by pressing OK and VOL until the button blinks twice To control the Digital Satellite Receiver again press and hold down the OK and VOL buttons until the button blinks twice 8 3 Code blink out Once you have found the correct code you can use your remote control to perform a code blink out to determine what this code is 1 Press and hold down OK and TV together until the TV button blinks twice Use the number buttons to enter 9 9 0 The TV button blinks twice again Press I and count the number of times the TV button blinks Press 2 and count the blinks Press 3 an
